Default San Bernardino CCW - Employment Verification Q's

What do they ask for Employment Verification? Will they send the mail to HR or straight to the Manager? The reason I'm asking is my manager is a liberal antigun and at the moment we are having issues here in the office with my manager and my concerned is that she will bad rep me with that employment verification. I'm sure she will do something like because she is in the deep s&**t now with the higher ups.

They ask if you work there. They ask if you need a CCW for continued employment. And a few other questions.

It does have the SBSO's logo on the envelope and they do announce that you are applying for a CCW. It is addressed to the HR department so if the person who opens the mail reads it thoroughly they should send it to the HR department.

The company I work for has it's corporate office and HR department in Eugene Oregon so the letter was given to my direct manager. I had told him a few months earlier that I was applying for a CCW and that he could be expecting a letter from the sheriff's department. Everything worked out fine for me.

Some firms prohibit weapons at work. Your CHL could potentially have a restriction - not valid in the office buildings of XYZ employer.

This is not common but it could be done....

I work for school district and definitely no gun zone. I signed the ccw employment agreement http://cms.sbcounty.gov/Portals/34/C...-06-132234-660 that I cannot use it for employment. Our HR is on different School District. I wonder if I can have the manager of my supervisor signed it because I'm sure my immediate supervisor will give me a hard time or will not even signed it.

I received a call from Sarah informing me that they haven't received my Employer's response regarding my Employment Verification. Sarah said that they sent it twice and still didn't received anything back. According to our HR or my manager they never received anything either. I'm guessing my manager received it but prefer not to reply. Sarah asked for my managers email address, she will try to send an email. Any cases here with the issue that employer doesn't want to reply to the employment verification. What are my chances of getting my permit? Lucky are those who are unemployed they don't have to go thru this process ;-(

My employer would not sign the verification either. Sarah ended up calling my work and was transferred to me which just so happened to verify my employment.

I'm still in limbo with this employment verification thing. I had my interview last Sept 26, after a week they did my neighborhood/background check. Up to now I'm still waiting for my call for range class. I spoke with Sarah last week and she told me they send the letter twice to my employer and never get anything back. Our HR said they never received anything. Sarah asked for my supervisors email address and direct phone number. She said she will try to email my supervisor and if my supervisor will not reply. I already talked to Sarah on my works phone. They called the operators and they transferred her call to me. What else can I do to clear this employment verification hurdles? HR will not say anything, I think HR received it but prefer to shut up because of something to do with firearms and I work for school district.

So, if you say no, the permit is not required for employment, they still check with your work regardless?

I am Orange County, but I have a CCW due to my work conditions (Real Estate) and my work has a zero tolerance for weapons. They did not physically call my employer, but I had to show my work duties to the investigator by way of employment contract and I had to show pay stubs.

That blows. What if you tell them you will not be carrying at work?

They just do it here... part of the SBSD red tape. Being self employed, yeah it gave me about a month leg up on my gal even though her boss is a 2A nut. He just procrastinated and she finally had to tape it to his computer screen. Another friend had a similar issue with his employer (Charter/Spectrum) and his boss didn't want to cooperate along the lines of silaic7's issue. The IA works through it, it's dark green on your map baggss and they do live up to that, but it can definitely set you back a month or so.

Congrats on your range date silaic7, it's all downhill from here. Your time frame closely mirrors that of my own a year prior. Evidently they're getting them done quicker than a yea now, but a situation like yours will cause a delay for sure.
