I need some info that involves actual shooting and operation of my rifle, not just playing dress up...

He was banned due to conduct on the precision rifle thread. Although, I think he was baited but nonetheless, fell for the bait. He was an asset to the community.

It went down in the precision rifle picture thread but most of the stuff got deleted.

Some guy was posting pictures of his scoped M1A with those new fancy stocks and got into an argument with Randall about whether or not they belong in the thread. They got warned by Kes to cool it. Then someone else (I think as a joke) posted something about "This is my first time shooting a scoped bolt action and I got 3 inch groups - am I good?" or something like that. The picture was of a hunting rifle. As I said, I think the guy said it as a joke but not sure.

Anyways, Randall laughed at him and got permabanned. Looking back, it's a silly way for this forum to lose one of the best members ever since the argument was pretty much about nothing.

That is the best that I can remember of what I saw but if someone knows better or more, feel free to correct me since I don't really try to keep track of the drama here.

thats not how it went down

someone else on randall's side posted a video of the m14 guy shooting his m14 suppressed. Randall laughed at it saying that his m14 turned into a bolt gun because sub sonic ammo requires racking the charging handle. Then banned

don't nobody laugh! anyone can be banned!

he was a great guy but sometimes people can't take the way he replies so it quickly becomes offensive. I've read a few threads where his replies were pretty offensive but... it's good in a way.

I had a thread in the shotgun section asking for help on how to install an 870 lop stock

he posted a completely irrelevant response that was insulting which wasnt in a good way whatever that means

There is probably a side to this story that only he and a few other people know about that got him banned, thats my guess.

I think it was really more an accumulation of many different factors, that one incident in the precision rifle picture thread being the straw that finally broke the camel's back. He is a great resource when he decides to be helpful but come on, 15th warning and 6th ban. He chose to ignore the clear warning from Kestryll and got hit with the ban hammer. It really isn't anybody's fault other than his own.

Considering 90% of all the posts on calguns consists of s*** posting, ads, the same youtube videos being posted over and over, trolling or just plain idiocy, its no surprise someone like Randall would become jaded.

Imagine if you went to the same bar every Tues night, got to know the place and staff, made some friends, basically made it your "go to place." Then you come in one night and there are all these new people puking everywhere, starting fights, playing s***ty music and your like WTF. But you still come every now and then because you know the people and they have good beer. Would it not be unreasonable to start s*** with one of these "new guys" messing up your place?

randall was helpful to a lot of folks, but he was pretty inflammatory at times. kes said that he felt he was too awesome to follow the rules.
