Default November 6-7, 2010 - Advanced Point Shooting Progressions - Los Angeles, CA

November 6-7, 2010
ADVANCED POINT SHOOTING PROGRESSIONS
Los Angeles, California

This course picks up where the original Point Shooting Progressions course left off. This course will require one of the handgun PSP course as a prerequisite (PSP, PSP/FAN, PSP/FOF.) This will give us a student base that does not require any of the point shooting fundamentals.

We will pick up the skills that you already own and push them as far as we can go. Speed, draw stroke, movement, and accuracy will be the main focus. Same building block approach, drill after drill pushing the limitations as far as we can possibly push them. Think PSP on steroids!

DURATION: 2 days
PREREQUISITES: Students must have attended one of the handgun PSP classes (PSP, PSP/FAN, PSP/FOF)
AMMUNITION: PRIMARY: Approximately 700 rounds (Minimum) Backup gun: 100 rounds (minimum) : Bring more if you want to shoot more
YOU NEED TO BRING: Spare clothing appropriate to the weather, lunch/snacks and water (minimum of 1 gallon per person) for the entire day, baseball or other style hat, sun screen, bug repellant, allergy medication (if needed), chair (if you have a problem with sitting on the ground, note taking paper/pen/pencil and a boo boo kit (bandaids, gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, antibiotic ointment and tape)
REQUIREMENTS: Primary pistol, Carry Holster, 3 Magazines, Magazine pouch, a backup gun and Range Safety Gear. Kneepads and elbow pads are recommended.
INSTRUCTOR(S): Roger Phillips

Just like the PSP, the APSP course is taking on a life of it's own. Where it originally started is very different from where it is now, just three courses into it's advancement.

This course will get deep into extremely well rounded and versatile point shooting with the secondary hand. We are not just talking about using a BUG every once in a while. We are talking about shooting at least half of the first day with the secondary hand. This is the course that brought the dual appendix to the forefront. If you have been dry practicing and you are ready to take your secondary hand to levels that rival your primary hand, here is your opportunity. All BUG and carry methods are welcome. Feel free to come with the set up that you have used in the past, or the set up that you have decided to advance towards in your future.

This course is especially friendly toward the two gun, dual appendix, completely ambidextrous method of carry. Whether you have come to embrace the concept or your just interested to see in what all of the hype is about........this course will be a real eye opener when it comes to this training philosophy.

We are going to take every concept that you learned in the PSP and bring it to the secondary hand. Come to this course all dry practiced up. Have your safety issues resolved and your comfort level high. We want to hit the ground running with our ambidextrous skill sets. I mean this literally and figuratively. This will not be a "ambidextrous fundamentals only" course. It is going to be a "make you completely ambidextrous" type of course.

Consider these facts and make the decision on whether your choosen BUG and your choosen form of carry is going to allow you to progress as far as you possibly can. This is a decision that should not be taken lightly. Do not be disappointed with your decision, because other people are getting more out of their training than you did. You all have been warned.

Whether you bring a BUG or not, whether you go dual appendix or not, this course will push your PSP skill sets to an entirely new level. Each APSP drill is designed to push you further than any PSP drill did. Pushing you harded, demanding more from you, working your skill sets at an entirely different level, working "the mental aspect of the fight" further than we ever had before.

We know the fundamentals already! How far can we really go?!

That is the point of the APSP!

We will be taking a hard look at "the consistant index." We will explore what it takes to attach that muzzle unto the targeted area and never let it come off......no matter what we are doing. Whether we are falling, popping up, struggling to our feet, rolling over, running, making cut back, changing directions, pivoting, or being bang around.......we keep that consistant index. We will learn the perfect balance of relaxation, and tension, that will allow us to make the hits, without hesitation, when everone else can not.

The consistant index is another aspect of fighting that has hardly even been looked at. If you think that making hits on the run is cool......you have only seen the entry level to the consistant index.

This course will be the debut of my new material on "The 7th Concept." We are going to take an indepth look at "The Take off Concept/Continuum. We are going to see that "one size does not fit all" when it comes to your take off. There is only one take off concept but it covers everything you need. It took me two years to find something worthy to adding to the 6 concepts that I already had. The 7th concept will allow you to be the very best that you can be in your take off. This is a true continuum, just as the sight continuum, the movement continuum, etc, etc. Fluidty, well roundedness, and versatility, all dictated by the situation. I can not wait to debut this material! The written word sucks........and action speaks louder than any written word.

Even my good friends were skeptical that I would be able to follow up after the PSP success. Let me tell you, that weighed heavy on me as I wrote the APSP curriculum. Those concerns are completely gone now. It will not be long till the PSP is just going to be seen as my "basic" course. The APSP just goes sooooo much further.

Come on out and see!

This extremely advanced course is just one week away. You must meet the prerequisites to be able to attend this course.

There are still a couple of slots still open.
