I guarantee these will be making there way into hundreds of SHTF kits and Bug Out Bags.......if/when the hi-cap ban is lifted you can figure out how to make a double stack mag and we can all enjoy 20 or more rounds!!!!!!!

How so? The original follower doesn't shoot out the top so why would it with the new mag?

The original follower is actually mounted to the floorplate on the mosins by a set of lifter arms and has a predetermined maximum height. The follower stops at just the right height to bring the last round to the proper height to load. On my mag, it's too long to use any kind of static lifter arms, so I have to use a coil spring which maintains a proper spring load by being longer than it needs to be, and always being slightly compressed. The follower on the original Mosin floorplate is a skinny little steel rectangle that basically floats in the middle of the receiver channels, but if I tried to put that onto my spring, there would be nothing to stop it from just continuing right up and out of the top of the receiver. For my follower, I'm actually going to be using the tiny ejector/interruptor tab as a stop-catch for the follower so it won't do that.

Excellent job Doc! Only took 119 years for someone to finally extend a MosinNagant Magazine! Just think about how much faster the nazis could have been pushed back.

Excellent job, bro!
Step 1. Patent application.
Step 2. Find a manufacturer.
Step 3. Sign standard "Rich & Famous" contract.

Thanks everyone!

Not sure about pricing yet. I'll have to shop it around, see what the manufacturing costs will be (which I can do without fear of theft once the Patent stuff is finalized) how long they'll take to assemble, etc.

I still want to tweak the design a little bit like maybe putting a lip on the top of the mag which will fit around the original receiver to add some side-to-side stabilization and overall structural rigidity. Right now, it's just held on by the hook and latch so if you dropped the rifle or smacked it on a tree in the woods or something, there's a chance of bending the receiver or magazine.

For sure get that patent filed and finished before anything. You dont want anyone else stealing your work.

Thanks, there's actually a Russian sniper emblem that goes on the stock too, but I want to recess it into the stock about an 1/8 inch and haven't gotten a chance to do it yet. I've got a whole theme and plan for that rifle eventually, but it has become my "test-bed" rifle for the time-being so I've held off doing the final fit-and-polish stuff to it. I plan on Duracoating the whole rifle once I'm done, but I knew it would get all scuffed-up and destroyed, so I've just been dusting black spraypaint on it every so often (you can see some runs in the spraypaint in the Mark II mag pics, haha).

Yup, that's the one! Great-looking emblem. Regardless of your political leanings, you have to admit that the Soviet iconography is so powerful and cool.
