Default you think the Nikon M-223 would work on a 308?

I have a PTR-91 with a 18" barrell chambered in 308. I want to put a 1x4 scope on it. I just want something i can sight in fast and also have the ability to zoom in. I am looking at Nikon's new m-223 scope. They say it is dialed in for a 55 grain .223 round. I was just wondering it it would still work well with a 168 gr 308 round with the markings for the diff yardage. Any advice would be helpful.

Anyone also know if i have it set a the 1x setting if i can keep both eyes upon like an aimpoint or is there still a certain distance i need for eye relief?
