Mine doesn't require a tool. The trigger housing must be removed before the lock can be slipped out. Takes all of 15 seconds to take down an HK.

My PTR-91s: 91F (18 inch w/wood furniture and 20/10 mag) and 91K (16 inch w/Navy Lower and wide forearm w/Cetme 5-round mag)

Magazines are fixed with small metal sleeve and requires disassembly of the magazine button to remove sleeve and then mag.

Thanks for any help/advice you can give, I've really got my heart set on this model for my semi-auto .308 rifle.
If Metroshot can't get what you are looking for rightaway.

Also, contact Atlantic Firearms. From what I understand, they will send a PTR91 rifle to California. They need to disassemble the rifle and ship the barreled/receiver seperate from the pistol grip lower etc.

I am sure Metroshot will facilitate an out of state transfer, but if you need another dealer recommendation, you can always contact Gunrunners in Duarte CA. A bit out of your way, but they know the drill. Talk to Paul or Johnny.

Good Luck and Good Hunting!

[QUOTE=69Mach1]Why do I live in Cali!

Mach, trust me, you don't want to live where it gets down to 15 degrees with a 5 degree wind chill..... I just got back from Plano, Texas and when I left the hotel yesterday for my meeting at 8am, it was 15 degrees and the wind was blowing at approx. 15-20mph with a 5 degree windchill.

By noon the temp rose to 36 degrees.

When I flew back into to So Cal, our temp was a nice 75 degrees!!!

This is one reason why we choose to live here my friend.

It could be a PSG-1 or MSG-90 clone.

I have. The longhaired a-hole displaying one at his table at Costa Mesa show is well known here for selling overpriced banned AW's with welded up magwells with Iggy's blessing.

Finally got a chance to take a picture of my FAL. Parts kit from GPG and the receiver from DSA. Had it put together with 10 round mag with locking mag release. It took a while, but here it is:

Business Trip. I go out there 5-6 times a year.... Someone has to pay for the hobby

I almost moved there in 2005 due to a job offer from one of the companies located out in Plano, but my wife and I just could not leave California.

We liked the area, especially Mckinney.

How long have you been here in Cali?

Damn weather out there is weird.

It could be 70 degrees in the morning, then by 2pm it can be down to the low 40's and freezing rain..

Tapco used to sell top covers cut for stripper clips. DS Arms uses them for their CA builds. I think you can buy them on their website using this link. I also see them coming up on Auction Arms and Gunbroker from time to time.

Did it myself. I really do have to give you plenty of credit for it, Plink. Thanks for all your help. Your suggestions lead me the right way and this is the end result. I got the kits from a very cool guy, Bridgeport, who's also on the threads selling some really fine kits. The builds were very rewarding. I enjoyed building it rather than sending it to someone else because you get know your firearm better. If there's a simple malfunction, you kinda have an idea on how to fix it. Moreover, you have control over how clean you wanna make your rifle, from refinishing the wood to finishing the metal. In the end, you can take a step back and take a good look at your baby and gladly pat yourself in the back for a job well done. On top of that, you save yourself a lot of dough for more ammo. Overall, it was absolutely fun and rewarding building both rifles, although it was a bit more challenging than building an AR. Thanks!

Wow, these are nice looking M1A rifles.

I'm still trying to decide between this Troy Stock or the JAE-100 for my AW M1A.

finished this tonight, its a PSL built from a parts kit and a 100% PSL specific receiver, my first AK build, made myself a rivet tool, it worked well, im looking forward to my first time out with it. it uses a similar maglock to the morepoop4u one, except its a steel L that you have to remove the mag catch to remove, hence why the mag catch is held on with a nut and bolt now instead of the normal pin.
