Default SA 1911 loaded model firing pin

The SA has a titanium firing pin which some recommend replacing with steel. (I know I'm going to get opinions on both sides of that)

Will the USGI 1911 firing in work; or does it require a series 80 type FP that has provision for the trigger operated FP block cut into the FP?

No, regular 1911 firing pin will not fit due to diameter variations. Use brownells Part no. 087-205-826 made for springfield 1911.

If I remember correctly the SA 1911 firing pin is the same diameter pin used in .38s, which is somewhat smaller than a standard 1911 firing pin. You could probably have a smith make some minor adjustments so that a standard 1911 firing pin would fit, but why spend the money?vJust use the one it came with til/if it breaks, then replace it if needed.
