Default WILD DEALS AT WILD SPORTS!

For updates see the last page or so.

As you all know I have been advising folks here about Wild Sports for some time now and posting their new AD each week. Since the craziness ensued and the shelves got stripped they have not been placing and AD each week.
They still have the best prices to be found though. Seriously. It would even be hard to beat their prices by searching online.

Still no new Ads as of yet. Just wanted to let everyone know that they still have quite a few guns. Not bare shelved like some dealers. They are getting more in stock near the end of each week. I stop by once in a while and will be posting interesting things from time to time and other often do the same.

They are located at 9396 Greenback Lane. Just on the outskirts of Sacramento in Orangevale. Open 10-8 Daily and 10-6 Sunday. Firearm purchases stop 1 hour before closing time. This goes for PPT's as well.

Couple points of interest:
They are not an OLL dealer and will not transfer them.
They require secondary proof of residency AT THE TIME of purchase so don't forget to bring that.

They advertise every thursday in the sports section of the Sacramento Bee.

Use their coupon on Sacbee.com and you get some pretty decent ammo deals through them.

This has been gone over several times, but the concensus seems to be that their customer service is lacking (a lot in some cases) but there prices make up for it. I bought my M&P40 there last December for $399 with the $50.00 rebate on top of that!

Yeah; they, like many other gun store, get so tired of explaining the same things over and over and often times they take it out on the customer. I do not recommend shopping here unless you know a little about what you are looking for. Just don't ask questions like "What are the best bullets for home defense?" or "What's single action mean?"

Do your research before you shop for guns; especially your first. Then when you know what you want. Go to whoever has it cheapest. That way it's an easy transaction and you needn't worry about customer service; just value.

True. Right now w/coupon they have Wolf 7.62x39 122gr hp's for $3.99.
That is 80 cents cheaper than I normally pay. BUT there is a limit of 10 boxes

Actually Cabelas might have a better deal... 640 Wolf 7.62x39 HP for 134.99 and 4.95 shippping on orders over $150. Get yourself a tin and something for 15 bucks and you get quite a deal ~21 cents/round.

I dont go to Wild Sports for ANYTHING other than ammo deals. I am 21 years old, and I do look pretty young. This has led to me getting hassled and occasionally berated by the staff for being anywhere near a pistol. They have been less than helpful to do even simple things, such as remove an M1A I was thinking about buying off of the wall. Hell, they carded me for CARRYING AROUND pistol ammo in their store.

I just dont feel like wrestling with the staff every time I want to buy a few bullets.

Still unsure of exactly what OLL is. (newbie)

I know what you mean Lateralus. I was in there the other day. I asked the guy at the counter if he minded if I stripped the pistol down to look at the spring setup. He said no problem. Then as I was pulling the slide off another guy starts raising his voice and telling me that they don't allow customers to do this. I told him the other guy said I could. He said that doesn't matter. I told him to go make love to himself.

Hey All,

To the OP, thanks for the thread! After seeing last night the prices listed in post #1, I decided to make the drive today (about 90 miles each way). In 10 days i'll be the proud new owner of a XD 45 Compact!

All were quite courteous and helpful. Overall their "normal" prices were good ($499 for the XD) but their sale prices were amazing! I saved $150 over my local range/shop.

They had one AR class rifle on the wall. When I asked if it had a bullet button they said no it was a welded magwell. I didn't see any lowers. They seemed to have a good amount of hunting/fishing/sporting gear, of which I plan to check out more on pickup day!

Not a problem at all! Glad to help out. That is why I just had to make this thread. I love seeing people get what they want for a bargain. And who woulda thunk it would ever be profitable to drive somewhere else to buy something with todays gas prices. Enjoy your new XD

Not 100% sure, but I don't think River City has started selling off-list AR types although they do sell a variety of off-list FAL variants in-store. As for Wild Sports, no they are not OLL friendly. There is a younger guy that works there who I know owns one from talking to him, but the older fellows (and that one fuzzy guy - don't mean to be mean but you know who I'm talking about if you've been there!) are convinced that there have been dozens of assault-weapon related arrests AND convictions of people who have been "duped" into buying OLL's.

Wild Sports is not OLL friendly.. any mention of a OLL will have most guys in there acting like you said something about their mothers..
.
River City doesn't care any OLL, however the do have a small selection of complete AR's.. and few other parts like Lower kits and pistol grips.

Funny since I was at wild sports a few weeks ago and the younger guy behind the counter told me about this website to check out OLL... So I am here because of him!

I've never seen surplus there. Maybe?

But River City Guns has 50 round bandoleer for $24.99 ($0.50 per round before tax aint bad but can't speak to it's quality)

Also they ordered some stuff for me. Might be in. 50 rds Magtech 150gr fmj should be $32.99 if they got it in yet. Cheapest stuff I will actually put through my Tikka and recommend to others. Very Accurate for low end ammo.

They have been around since before I can remember. It used to be CRAZY there back in the 80s and 90s. Line out the door and an entire wall of EBRs. Chinese Aks for $300.00, Colt AR-15's for $800.00, HK's, Galils, Steyr Aug. It's so strange to think how California has changed.

It's also funny to see how Wildsports has changed.

Bought some ammo today.
.45 acp 230gr Winchester SXT hollow points $22.97 per 20. Seems to be a fair price especially since it's the normal price.

I dropped by RCGE today, picked up a box of Austrailian .308 for $21 (40 rds) and a bandoleer of Indian for $25 (50 rds). Gonna give each a try in my FAL before I buy more.
