Need some answers on my lower rec and upper rec.
This may sound very newbish but here goes. I had my upper rec exchanged (pof). When I got my new upper rec back today, I noticed I'm having a hell of a problem pushing in the front take down pin (the one that is located above the magazine well) to my spikes lower. I was just able to get it almost about half way through before it stopped. Before i got the new upper rec I did not have this kind of problem.
I also noticed that when I was able to get it at least half way in (i have to bang on the pin with my hand to get it where it is now, and it's extremely hard to pull the pin out now), it seemed a little stiff and rubbing against the rail where the take down pin area meets the bottom part of the rail or barrel nut. It's a tad bit off centered because if you look at the picture on the left side its literally touching the rail where as the right side there is a tiny bit of space between the 2. Plus you can tell from the picture its rubbing against one another. Is this common with lowers and upper rec? Here's some pics to better understand what i'm saying.

It looks like your forearm rail system are too far back. They are not giving the front lug enough clearence to move freely. Can you take them off??? If they come off easily then try taking them off. And put your upper back on. If they don't come off easily then leave it alone and take it to someone who can look into the problem for you. Too bad you are in Norcal or you can go to Randall to fix it for ya ...

Judging from the pics, it looks like its just a tight fit b/t lower and upper receiver, which is a good thing as it will loosen up after use. If the rail is causing the pin to not fit you can file it down till its not in the way. i would just use a dead blow.

Yup. Make sure it is into the far side of the receiver, and give it a healthy whack to seat it. Since there is no good reason to constantly remove the pin, the tightness means little.
Minor grinding on your fore end will clear it from rubbing.

I agree with Army a tight fit on the front take down pin is ok, Your hand guard is hitting your lower receiver. That is why the pin is so tight, My AR10 is tight but not that tight. Either move you HG forward a hair if possible of do a little sanding on the HG, seperate the upper and lower and I am sure you will see rub marks

Is that forend held on with set screws? If so, loosen those set screws and slide it forward just a tad to see if it's easier. I've never seen a forend held on with set screws before, but I can see one screw on the bottom of yours which leads me to believe that's how it's held on.

The right side of the HG is hitting the lower as seen in the pics, You can see light on the left side. That does look like a set screw in the bottom of the HG

I think because its grinding against the hand guard it is making it extremely hard to push and pull the pin out. The rear one is fine. As you can see on pics the front take down pin area is grinding on to the rail (hand guard). It's literally metal on metal and already has taken off the finish on both parts and then some.
Before I got the new upper rec replaced i didn't have this problem at all. I need to call pof about this because its going to get worse until it takes off some more metal. The rail is attached to the upper rec. I have to check if i have the right tools to take off the rail, but the problem is when you screw back on the rail to the upper rec, some of the screws need to be torqued at certain pound of pressure. I don't have a special screw driver torque wrench to do that. So it's not easy to take off that rail. Dammit all to hell. Hope pof can fix it. It sucks because I just got it back couple of days ago. By the time I keep shipping this upper i maybe able to pay for a new AR.

It's held on by 5 screws. 4 at top and one at the bottom.

it's a pof predator rail. Does anyone in sac has a pof rifle that can maybe take a picture? Or anyone that can take a picture of their pof upper with a different lower so that I can see if this a problem because it's a different brand lower?
I wouldn't think it would be this bad. Like I said before it wasn't happening before I got my upper rec replace couple of days ago.
