Default Bought my new Baby!

Just bought my first rifle, its an 1944 Izzy M44 all parts matching. Purchased it from a fellow calgunner. Thank you very much sir! I believe the metal parts are in a black enamel finish. stock refinished in red mohagany. Bolt's a little bit sturdy. Theres some grease/cosmoline in the chamber? not sure. Other than that it looks great in my opinion.

Time to search for a shooting range so I can let this baby roar.
Here's pics via my blackberry

mind the pics if they are big sorry :P
EDit: forgot to show pic of extended bayonet

haha I'll try my best not to hang around there. There's not much room in my place for more firearms. I cant decide wether to leave the bolt as it is or deblue it if there is such a thing.

NICE looking M44. My first mosin nagant was an 1944 M44...a year later I have 3-4 M44s(still looking for a 1943 or a tula M44), 2 91/30s, and a M39. TAKE WARNING....the addiction starts with russians, but when you get a taste of the finnish rifles you are done for. I have to hide new rifles from my girlfriend. I know....it's sad.

I do see myself buying a 98k sometime in the future. I don't know what is it about these bolt action rifles but damn I love them.

I too started off my C&R collecting with an M44. Nice romainian back when Big5 had them for $49.99. The Finn mosins have been my obsession though. You have no idea how much work it is to bring home rifles without the wife finding out about "another old gun"

I just took my M44 to the range for the first time recently, and shooting it was a load of fun. You're going to love it.

Congrats! MY first C&R was a Romanian, all matching, 1955 M44. That thing is still the sweetest rifle I own. It looks as though it was never issued it's so clean.

The M44 is dangerously addictive. After shooting it, any smaller caliber rifle was just no fun anymore and started me down the dangerous path of the .308 AR >.>

Heck, I don't even like my M91/30 that much because it doesn't kick as hard >.<

Milsurps have cooled my interest in ARs significantly, just as fixed blades have done for my early interest in folders. Manly tools vs metro toys...
