Default Mossberg 500 price

Hello, I want to sell my mossberg 500 and was wondering if 300 is a fair price? It's about 1 year old and is the 6 shot model. It has the Hogue Tamer Pistol grip with Hogue Tamer forend and I will include 6 boxes of Remington Magnum 00 Buck and one box of Remington reduced recoil 00 buck, Plus a Alley Pistol grip soft case and a Coyote Tan Shotgun Scabbard. Thanks

I think big 5 normally has them on sale with two barrels for $280ish so $300 seems high, should be around 200-230.

But to tell you the truth I don't really know.

just like supersteve said. you can get one brand new all the time with 2 barrels at big5 in the $280-300 range.

used accessories usually bring about half of what they cost if that at all. ammo usually just sweetens up the deal.

So I guess $220 ish maybe

That said, it's a lot easier to go down in price than go up. Can try advertising here and on craiglist for 300, and then go down if there's noboyd biting.

Unfortunate but true. I just got a 500 with 2 barrels and a 10-box of 00Buck shells for $301 (inclusive of tax & DROS) on Friday from Big 5.

I would say as high as maybe 260-270 with all the ammo. Other than that the cost to replace it is too high if you sell it for 220$ so yeah its not worth selling.
WITHOUT all the ammo 220 is a pretty realistic price.

Never sell a gun unless you absolutely have to. Add guns. I know sometime we have to sell one to buy one, but when possible, save up and just add to the armory.

Unless it's something special, hard to get or you got it at huge discount you will not get your money back on a quick turn around gun sale. Hold on to it for a few years and you'll probably get your money back. I had to hold onto a Benelli S-90A1 third generation for 6 years before I could get my money back out of the deal. The buyer got a deal and I got my money back, so everyone was happy.

I bought a used Mossberg for 275$ but only because I got my butt thrown out of Big 5 for no reason while trying to buy one there.

I sold mine for $150 a few months ago. It was brand new looking with only 25 rounds through it and had the 18.5" HD barrel and the 28" hunting barrel.

This as you can probably tell is bull**** but rather than argue with him I gave him what he wanted by leaving and not making a fuss. He didn't want my business and I took it elsewhere.

I don't blame you. I wouldn't sell mine for less than $300 even though I bought it brand new for less! It is my baby!

Not sure that's right... In my experience bad service can be found in all levels of retail, crappy store to high end boutiques. Likewise there are good people to be found every where also. So far my experiences ta B5 have all been very pleasant.

I had a big 5 combo and I sold it for 200$ and it was basically brand new also. I got it for 280 out the door and it was the loaner shotgun if someone came and didnt have a shotgun for hunting or skeet they used that one

I'm assuming this story is missing some type of important detail. Did you check the addicted to marijuana box by chance?

I'm pretty sure there is no check box on a DROS that if you check it the dealer is required to shred it, is forbidden to tell you what you marked wrong and isn't allowed to give you a second form.

I found on www.backpage.com a used (with some scratches he says) 500a with a pistol grip only, 18.5" barrel, heat shield and 6 shot side saddle for $150. Getting it tomorrow. I think its a good deal for me at $150. I have a set of classic old school wood furniture for it already so the pistol grip is going in the trash.

I have been wanting a simple, small, light weight, older, broken in, 500 for a while.

Not sure where you are trying to go with that statement but a SG is a tool. For those who have more funds they can buy a fancier tool, for those who do not they buy what they can afford.

My Mossy 500 was purchased in 1968 by my grandfather, when he passed it went to my father & now I have it. It still shoots well to this day & I don't baby my weapons.

I think he meant the pistol grip, not the gun.

Disclaimer... I've owned a Mossberg 500 for close to 25 years. It's a smooth shooting favorite regardless of the barrel I have on it.

I love the clunky 'ol Mossbergs.. one of my favorites to shoot.. but very awkward with a pistol grip..
+1 to both statements.
