Default How does Bud's Gun Shop work?

Do I go to my FFL and have him order the gun from there?

I believe they have an FAQ section on their website. Check it out and you'll find the answer most likely.

In short, you order the gun, give Buds your FFLs information (or he/she gives it to them). They ship it to the FFL, you go to the FFL and start the DROS.

yes they explain it in the FAQ on their website.

Also when u order from them they have a list of FFLs to pick from, if ur FFL is on the list then u dont have to send the info over.

I just ordered from them a couple weeks ago.

Make sure you know what your FFL is going to charge for this process, the amount is not set other than the $25 for the backround check. Also, you are going to pay sales tax on the gun to your FFL.

Sometimes a FFL/gunshop can get close to Bud's price when you add everything up.

Your California FFL is supposed to. Some (a shinking number) do not, and in that case you are supposed to pay it with your California income tax.

I'm sorry, but the tax issue is such a bunch of garbage to me. I purposely buy out of state on many of my items now just for the tax issue. I refuse to help out this state in any way shape or form just to watch my hard earned tax dollars go to waste. Sorry for the rant.

I have bought a couple of guns from Bud's. Just place your order and select a FFL to ship to. There's a ton that are already on the site and have the paperwork on file with Bud's. They ship out quickly and I have had zero issues. I bought a used gun and the descriton was very honest as far as condition.

Yep. Just make sure to talk to your FFL first so that they know they will be receiving the gun. I had a really nice FFL my first purchase. The gun wasn't in stock anywhere, and he scoured BGS for a couple weeks before he found one. Then he ordered it and called me when it was ready to start DROS. Bud's is a great choice.

Buds prices are cash value so if you're paying with a card prepare to add 3 percent.

Ok I'll check their FAQ page.
I was just wondering if the FFL had to order it than I pay him.
Or if I pay them and than pay him.
I'll go talk to my FFL and see how he feels about it. He usually gives me good deals but he doesn't have the gun in stock and usually only deals with used stuff people bring into the shop.. Thanks for the help everyone

My 2 cents:

I've ordered a few time's from Bud's. They have 90 day layaways. Great way to pay off a gun and not have to use your credit card and get charged an extra 3%.

I got screwed on my last order though. Put an item on layaway last December and paid it off in the alotted 90 days. Salesperson calls me two weeks after I made my last payment that someone made a mistake and sold the gun that I had been making payments on. Well that really blows, especially since I know it's a gun not made often, maybe one batch a year by this particular manufacturer. I told them to keep looking until they find the gun I ordered. I'm sure they won't find it until later this year. What if this particular gun had been taken off the CA roster this year? Now that would be a cluster****. At least they gave me a $25 store credit and were courteous enough to give me a call telling me that they erred big time.

Anyways, buyer beware.
