Cool Rebarrel a Turk Mauser in 6.5x55

I had this Turk Mauser that looked like it was a guards weapon at the Last Supper. I also had a new 6.5x55 Swede barrel for my Swede. This gun smith down here in San Diego said it would screw right on my Turk action. We were at the Range and I didn't want to embarrass myself rolling on the ground. But I had nothing to lose. That rifle had cost me 49.99 at big five. So I gave him the rifle and the new barrel. Had him bend the bolt and mount rings. Boys and girls let me tell you, it works. Took it out to set the scope, but my made in China special had already went South on me. It will be a beautiful rifle when I get through with stock redo and blue. So check it out. Last I heard you could still get those barrels from Sarco or Samco can't remember which one for about 79.00 blued and ready to screw on. I decided to scope it so the Smith wouldn't have to set the front site. The cut out for the rear site accomodates the front end of that big scope. Safe Shooting

I had decided to give up my ways of buying super expensive (as compared with my budget) guns, and buy a nice, simple, cheap, surplus 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser. Coincidentally, Shotgun News recently came out with a big Mauser edition magazine, filled with articles and ads.

Which Mauser did I fall in love with? The CG63 target rifle, a surplus match rifle, which retails for around $700.
