Mine came with this handy cleaning kit. P and A (does that mean rebuilt?)stamped on pistol grip. HRA and SA parts. Never seen cozmoline. Shoots better than I can. I don't think it's CMP.

For I believe $10 or $15 bucks you can give the CMP your serial number and they will search there records if it was one of theirs.

I think there is potential in revisiting the en bloc clips. They are disposable and if put in modern arms chambered in 5.56 you could get clips of 15 rouns or more.
Maybe not that, but I see the fact that they auto eject as being useful.
When seconds can be the difference between life and death for our guys in the military it might be nice if on the BHO you could also set it to eject your mag when it's empty so you don't have to take your trigger finger away from being ready.
That might not be worth the hassle though haha and more parts means more stuff to break.

Still waiting for my Garand from CMP!

Correct Grade 1953 Springfield. MW: 1, TE: 2. Parkerizing 100%, like new gun.

Shoots near 2 MOA with Greek Surplus, hits steel at 400 yards so far. Love this gun.

For the record, I am not trying to say that everyone else's guns are not beautiful, they all are. The Garand is a thing of beauty.

Thumbs up 2 of my 3 CMP Garands ...

A Service-Grade post-WWII 1955 SA that is almost all SA and very near new, and a Service-Grade Winnie that is almost all WRA except for the VAR barrel and a PB follower. I also have an HRA (no pix) that came with some vintage USGI wood (that I asked for) but "literally" new metal. The HRA shoots the best without any MODs, but the SA with the Smith Muzzle Brake shoots better still.

Here is one on my recent HRA's. Man, the rifles coming out of the CMP are just sweet! I'm pretty sure this was just sitting in some Greek warehouse with a bunch of others just like it.

My blonde IHC Gap Letter. LMR barrel, Overton rebuild stock and all IHC parts (except for the forged trigger guard; I have the right one), it is a true match rifle with bedded and unitized stock and a match grade trigger, NM sights front and rear (I have the correct ones of these as well). Shoots better than I can!

1.23 mil Winchester service grade with a CMP birch stock. I don't know why some folks think they are ugly?

I have an all correct HRA in GI wood and a Springfield service grade special as well but don't have access to pics right now.

Life is good!
