Talking Complete Del-ton M4 AR-15 rifle kits $485

Kits are all SOLD Thanks,,,,,,I have a few AR-15 rifle kits that I will not be using. They have every part you need to build a rifle except for the stripped lower receiver. No FFL required for these kits.

To be clear, The stripped lower receiver is NOT included and I do not sell them. You will need to buy a receiver from a FFL dealer.

The kit includes a complete assembled upper barrel assembly with bolt carrier group and charging handle, butt stock assembly and lower parts kit (FCG & pistol grip).

The upper is a flat top A-3 with standard feed ramps. The barrel is 16" chrome molly (not chrome lined), chambered in 5.56 X 45 NATO (.223).

You can choose between 3 butt stock types. A2 Fixed trap door, M4 6 position or a Magpul CTR 6 position stock ($60 upgrade for CTR).

The price of the kits is $485 plus $20 shipping. Or $485 cash in person in San Jose.

Add a detachable carry handle for $36 or a detachable rear sight for $29

Postal money orders only on these kits, PM me for mailing address and payment instructions.

Below pictured with TNW receiver, Magupl CTR stock, 10/20 mag, bullet button and detachable rear sight.

rear sight $29 aluminum quad rail $48

Holographic sight $42 carry handle $36

Sorry, new on AR/M4 market. On a scale of 1 to 10, where does Del-Ton rank?

Please advise. Thanks!

Curious about this myself. Some one should make a sticky that has a general grouping of the different companies and their quality rankings/cost.

Ranking it on a scale of 1 to 10 doesn't really work here. It really depends on your budget and what you need it for.

If your just using it for plinking and your on a very tight budget, I would rank it 9 or 10. Paper targets don't shoot back.

If money is not an issue, I would rank it 1.

If my life was on the line and need it to be robust and reliable, I would give it a 2 or 3.

Del-Ton is a good budget rifle, just not the best rifle out there. If this is your first AR15, then you can't go wrong with a Del-Ton. But with the fall on rifle pricing and high availablity, you can get a very good rifle for a little more. Del-Ton was very popular when prices where high, and low availabilty. The market is now flooded with manufactures and options.

There is deals out there. You just have to look. If I had to build another rifle, this is what I would do:

[This will get you a complete lower]
- Stripped lower : Get a JD Machine stripped lower for $100 + dros ($28)
- Lower Parts Kit: TDSGuns has a LPK for $45
- Bullet Button: $25
- Magazine: Many vendor here are selling PMags for about $18.
- Stock: DSGArms has a Magpul MOE kit for only $99. It includes a MOE CTR Stock, pistol stock, buffer tube, buffer, buffer spring, castle nut, receiver, and MOE handguards.

Complete Lower total: $316
Build your own lower. It is very easy to do and will help build confidence if you have replace parts later. Many resources (Youtube, etc) will teach you how to build a lower.

[Complete Upper]
- Complete Upper: Look on the sales ads. Or wait for the deals. The new Daniel Defense Complete Upper Deal for $500 shipped was one of the best deals around X-mas. Cold War Shooters (CWS) has this complete upper for $550 plus shipping plus handling plus tax. Total for CWS is about $650. Daniel Defense Complete Uppers are consider top tier.

Complete Upper Total: $500 - $700.

A better question would be "I have a budget of $XXX - $XXXX and I am using my rifle for XXXX, what is the best rifle to buy"

Thanks, railroader and vsy05! A great wealth of information.

Looks like this Del-Ton deal fits our budget and purpose, now I just need to find a great deal on a stripped lower.

Again, thanks for the feedback!

And for the "Carbine Class", I would feel confident with either in a class. I have shot 600 rounds in one day during a run-&-gun and my Del-Ton functioned just fine (chrome-moly).

There were other more expensive carbines that did have problems, FTF/FTE. But I believe that these problems were owner induced rather than the rifle themselves. Many times a less expensive firearm will function well while a more expensive firearm will fail strictly by the user input/maintenance.

I have no problems with the Del-Tons I have.

Oh, I need to add, that one day the weather was so bad (freezing wet snow/high winds) that my Del-Ton was completley covered in ice/snow and to be honest I expected some problems. But to my surprize, everything worked great. So, get out in the dirt/snow/rain/dust and shoot it. If prepared for the conditions, you won't have any problems.

Del-ton kits are great quality kits. You cant go wrong with these.

Generally it is an additional $40-50 for Chrome Lined. Make sure you get the lined barrel if you plan to shoot any more than 1000 rounds... You might want to check out DelTon's site. Spikes has some KILLER deals on stripped lowers right now..especially if you don't mind seconds on the finish. The specs are right on though... I just bought 3.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your turn around time from Del-Ton? I ordered a kit about a week ago... I may be interested in picking up one of yours..

If you buy a kit from me you can get a billet AR-15 lower receiver direct from TNW to your FFL for a discounted price of $100 instead of the regular price of $140.

AR Lower Aircraft Aluminum Billet Receiver
• Enlarged mag well bevel allows for quicker mag change.
• 25% heavier than a standard forged receiver - designed for additional strength in high stressed areas.
• Longer life and more accuracy.

I do have some kits that would work well for feature less. Heavy barrel with fixed A2 stock. The barrel does have a flash hider, but you can remove it and put a comp or nut on it.
Same price as M4 kit $485.

Got my Del-ton kit via FedEx home delivery today. The upper looks nicely put together, a great value at $485.00.
