That's Angeles if I'm not mistaken. Ironically it was about 95F the last time I was there...

This is my first post here ever. I'm in the process of building my first firearm. How are you guys having 10+ rd magazines on your ARs? Aren't they 100% illegal?

In a fixed mag rifle, bullet button or prince 50 mag lock (which most on here are) the mags are required to be no more then 10 rds. In those rifles people use 10/30's, 30 round magazines permanently fixed to hold 10 rounds.

Others owned 10+ round magazines before they were banned and unless they have a RAW (registered assault weapon) they go with a featureless build. No evil features: Pistol grip, forward pistol grip, flash suppressor, folding/collapsible stock, thumbhole stock, grenade/flare launcher. this allows for the use of a detachable mag setup and the use of pre-ban hi-cap mags.

Do some searches you should be able to find a lot more information.

Just replaced the Vltor stock with a SOPMOD stock yesterday. Much sturdier and no rattle at all.

Sorry for the delayed answer but I've been so caught up with other stuff for a couple of months and haven't been on calguns for a while. I also haven't had the chance to get to the range for a long while either which REALLY, REALLY, REALLY SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, as others have mentioned that is Angeles Range and that was probably one of the funnest days I have had at a shooting range in many years! The only thing that wasn't fun was trying to make sure you dried off everything the best you could and get some oil in and on anything that might rust before you pack it all up to go home. Due to the fact that everything was soaked I did end up with a little rust on stupid things like the c-clips for the bubble levels but nothing that couldn't be cleaned up.

But since this is a PIC THREAD here are some pics from that day.

Ah, yes. Best part about cold & rainy days is that you usually have the range all to yourself!

It's good and definitely tones the muzzle rise and recoil down. I polished it with sandpaper as you've probably noticed the shine.

Good price too vs other muzzle brakes. Get one at pkfirearms.com for $40.

Here's a pic I posted couple days ago with the new sopmod stock to balance the rifle out better vs the Vltor modstock which was a little too small/unbalanced for it.

Just picked up a Troy MRF-C rail system for my carbine. Its more or less finished now but if I ever get the money (and the balls to fork it over), I might just put a LaRue FUG and a Sopmod stock on it. Until then, we're stuck with this:

and while Im at it, heres my M16 clone. KIIS.
