This may not be the right place to ask this question but I really need to find out.

Are there markings or anything on an upper to identify if it is for sure a Colt upper?

That's nice, 20" barrel. What is that? 9x magnification. I can't decide if I want a 4x posp scope or a kobra red dot. Since we could remove the optics without losing zero, I might just get both. Haha

It's gone through many changes, but here's the most recent status with a new WOA 18" SPR barrel and Miculek muzzle brake that I polished today, and a Nikon 6-24x50 Monarch scope.

Default KISS/Retro/Frankenstein Carbine

Nothing fancy here, just a little KISS/Retro/Frankenstein carbine I put together a little before the elections.

Superior Arms Lower
RRA LPK W/ 2-Stage Match Trigger
Surplus A1 Pistol Grip
Promag 10/20 Mag W/ Price 50 Mag Lock
M1S Aluminum CAR Stock
Fulton/DPMS "Slickside" A1 Upper Receiver
Fulton/DPMS "Slickside" Hard Chromed BCG (bling bling! )
M1S 16" 1/9 Twist Chrome-Moly Lightweight Barrel
A1 Flash Suppressor
Surplus 6 Hole CAR Forend

Weighs in at just under 6 lbs. and has given me 1K trouble-free rounds so far with minute-of-grapefruit accuracy!

Just completed my first AR today. I'm not sure if the birth of my first child will be as exciting.

Specs:
Kaiser Defense Lower
Addax Tactical GPU w/14.5" barrel and attached muzzle break making it 16" OAL
Timney Trigger group 3lb pull
Magpul collapsible stock
CAA pistol grip

Soon to be added:
Grip Pod System
Eotech 557 with 3x magnifier I hope
(The Eotech is expensive so I'm not sure about that yet)

Magpul makes some amazing stuff. With the spare AR parts I had from previous builds, I just HAD to make one with all of Magpul's new kit.
(Note: 10/30 Pmag with B-15 lock used)

Thanks, Cheese. The Elzetta is pretty nice. It's well built and matches Magpul's FDE nicely (if that's a concern for you). It's relatively cheap and fits most lights. If you have a carbine length system, then the reach isn't too far, and allows for pretty natural activation. I'd guess that if it was put on a midlength or rifle length, and you didn't have long arms, it'd be a bit harder to get to your light. Definitely one of the best looking ways to mount a light on a KISS rifle, IMO.

You're rifle is awesome, kudos on such an awesome build. But where did you get your magpul BUIS?

Thanks, Plisk. I got it from DSG Arms. For the past week or so, they've been getting MBUS' in and out of stock. You just gotta watch out for when they put em up
