Common now nothing wrong with having a red dot+magnifier(one of the best optic setups for a short-medium range AR) and a flashlight. A laser is a little mall ninja.

I get where you are coming from, but I feel the OP did it in a respectful way. There are a lot of laws regarding the handling of the American flag and they are almost all pertaining to respecting the flag and respecting what it stands for. I think his subtle message was to imply his firearms are his way of protecting what the flag stands for.
