FINALLY! Just received my LMT upper from Quantico Arms. Only 3 week wait compared to 12 weeks from everyone else. Complete LMT build with Tango down grips. Now all I need are some flip up sights.

Well, that's not really a Quantico thing, LMT just started shipping MRPs in the last week.

Did you purchase it during the 4th of July sale?

How come it says "restricted for LEO only" on the side...

Are you LEO? Man, that would make me nervous having a rifle that said that on it.

Why would it make you nervous...? the 2004 ban has been expired. You can have it state anything you desire....

Those are meant for this purpose... they are not just any MARPAT cloth.... regarding applying them to the barrel, here is a quote from their VP, Sales:
"We have had success at shooting over 1500 semi automatic rounds on an M16. When wrapping the very end of the weapon, make sure you wrap it completely onto itself.?This will secure the end so it won't peel off when blasting away."

McNett Camo Form
This is by far, the nicest, quickest, non-invasive CAMO (Desert MARPAT) I can find for my AR!!

I'm not sure how "durable" it is in the field, but it is:

- QUICK (took me just a couple of minutes to do),

- NICE (I doubt that I can achieve this quality of Desert MARPAT camo if I went with the "paint" route),

- reversible (it is just like compression bandage, it stick to itself, but NOT stick to the firearm),

- reuseable (you can take it off, and put it back on again),

- adaptable (you can change your camo ANYTIME! from Desert MARPAT to ACU, to woodland camo, to snow!)

- FIRST AID (i guess, if you are in need of bandage, this can be used as compression bandage)

This is just WONDERFUL and INNOVATIVE.... HURRAY for such a nice product!!

GOOD JOB McNett!!

http://www.mcnett.com/

Desert MARPAT Camo Pattern:
http://www.mwgco.com/Merchant2/merch...MCN-C19413-MDD

I bought mine at Quantico Arms, @ $14.99, a little expensive.... but WELL WORTH IT...

www.csmgear.com also stock them

One note tho, I believed that they are made with certain % of cotton, and it will burn, so don't place it OVER your flash hider.....

Is a UTG Ergonomic foregrip. Has the storage compartment for 3 cr123 batteries or other tools etc.

The tan color does not match the stock or a Tangodown Tan battlegrip though. It is darker, which I like, but does not match with the other parts.

Scope rings are in. Now all I need is a low pro rear BUIS and to save up to complete my other lowers. And of course to go shoot some paper!!

Hopefully more folks will post pictures. I always like seeing different configurations to give me some ideas on my next builds.

Here's my favorite rig. The only thing it's missing now is a Vortex hider... oh and then of course the light, etc! You can never build up enough, there's always another project!

I like it. I was going to grab a Vortex up in Reno but I was tapped out of cash after free floating and putting on grips and optics. I was also thinking about a folding front sight but I just love the way the A2 front sight looks... not to mention having a vertical point of refference.

Awesome rifle etruscan! Btw is that an LCW-15 lower or a CMMG?

thanks. its a good yet odd (foreign?) feeling to have something 99.999% complete. as we all know, there is always something else to add or fiddle with (that reminds me...trigger upgrade...hmm). the lower is an LCW-15. i havent spied many lauers or perhaps any at all on this pic thread. where are my LCW brothers!?

Trust me you're more complete than I am. Here's the run down of my build:

STAG-15 lower
Rock River Arms 6 pos stock
Bushmaster M4A3 upper
ARMS BUIS
Olympic Arms fixed front sight with colt sight
EOTech 512
Olympic Arms Free Float Rails
Olympic Arms forward grip

Just call it FrankenM4

nice nice. i like the vertical forearm grip (didnt see it initially). i parted ways with mine as a result of running the 10/30 mag. it made loading the rifle a bit of a challenge. man, im already thinking about my next build...when am i not though. you know what keeps me up this late? the damn knife collectors show on shop-at-home

Funny you mention the 10/30 mag... the reason I switched over to a bushmaster 10 rounder was because taking the grip on/off to reload became too much of a hassle but going without the front grip wasn't as fun. However, the prob with my front grip is the foam which will probably prevent me from adding pressure switches later.

I am seriously thinking of going gas piston on my next build so I can use a folding stock. I used to have a side-folder on a really old SKS I had and have always wanted another one. I wonder if the Colt gas piston uppers and POF uppers are compatible with the ZM Weapons side-folder.

On a side note you gotta admit that the forward grips look killer with a 10/30 in there.

Default Latest build

7.62x39 flat top upper on a Stag lower, MM grip, muzzle brake, detatchable mags.

Anyone know where to find decent 7.62x39 magazines? not the plastic ones

And a shot of the "offlist" family (minus 1 lower)

i absolutely agree. imo, ARs just dont look right without one (30 rounder profile)...unless youre going for the 'nam era xm177 or A1 w/triangular handguard.

Looks like a photo chop and it would be legal. You would hold it like the Monterman grip already being sold.

Why wouldn't it be legal? Is it a thumbhole stock? Does it allow for a "pistol style grasp"? Remember, "pistol grip" is a grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web between the thumb and index finger is below the top exposed part of the trigger. I know what you're thinking, you could shoot with the web below the line, but pretty much any rifle can be shot with the web below the line. It has to be a grip that allows a"pistol style grasp" and the web below the line.

Do you think this falls under that definition? Remember that these laws are to be understood by reasonable people. They were supposed to be written clearly enough that reasonable people that these laws effect are to be able to understand them. If you have to be a lawyer to be able to understand them, than I wouldn't think that they were very clear. .

I was reading the second comment period about the "pistol grip" definition, and there was a part that read (978.20 d sec:c3.41):

Comment:
Anyone could take a ruger mini-14 and install a wooden dowel that projects downward from the stock, and DOJ would have it called an assault weapon simply because the gun could be grasped by that dowel.

Response:
The Department disagrees with the comment. The fact that a firearm has a pistol grip does not make it an assault weapon. The firearm must also have other characteristics specified in Penal Code section 12276.1 to be an "assault wepon. Additionally, because the proposed definition states in part, "pistol grip...means a grip that allows..." installation of a wooden dowel that did not resemble a "grip" would not fall within the department's definition."

I say we install some grip that is basically a metal dowel that protrudes down in the place of a grip. They said themselves "it would not fall within the department's definition".

My point is that the definition of a pistol style grasp is to be understood by reasonable people. It is not that vague of a law that it is broad enough to cover any grip that is attached to a OLL. So as a reasonable person, now do you think that this grip above allows a "pistol syle grasp"?

To me it looks like a rifle stock and it allows for a rifle style grasp. But then again, maybe I am not that reasonable.

MM
