It started around 3:30AM. I couldn't sleep, so I started to field strip my bedside gun, a Sig P226.

When I had it apart, I came across a photo of one which had the frame painted FDE. My god, I thought, I should do that to mine! After a few attempts to find someone local to Duracoat it and a lower for my absolute favorite AR, I found Todd Powers of Phantom Finishing. Todd Cerakoted both the frame and lower for a reasonable amount and with a quick turnaround.

I do not have the proper photography equipment to properly display how nice Todd's work came out. You have to see it in person, and I will be wearing it at the next Sacramento CalExpo Gun Show for all to see. If anyone wants to have a quality finish on their firearm Todd is the guy to do it.

Enough chat.

STOP!

Picture time.

Here is a closeup view of the painted sections.

Upper Parts List:

LMT 16" Carbine w/ LMT Enhanced BCG
Matech BUIS
Magpul MOE Forearm (Love it)
Eotech 512.A65
Badger Tac Latch

Lower Parts List:

Spikes Tactical ST-15 Lower
CMMG Standard LPK (I know, it will be upgraded soon)
AR Raddlock
A2 Stock
TangoDown Battlegrip
10/30 PMAG
Phase 5 Tactical EBRv2
Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard
Heavy Buffer

That image is from a movie called "Dead Snow" - it's an indie Nazi-zombie flick... I watched it a couple weeks ago - it was mildly amusing.

Thanx for the compliments guys!...Wildman that is the MOE grip and I like it just fine. I kinda have a middle of the road hand size so it fits me perfectly, fills out my hand more than the stock grip...The ammo is cheap Wolf ammo.

How does the PA RDS hold up? Looks like a very nice affordable alternative to the AP micro.

Well, just by looking at it it looks solid enough. I haven't taken it out to the range yet to see how well it holds a zero, but the brightness settings on it are adequate, even in bright sunlight...I think it will be fine for range use, but I would certainly not take it into a warzone or anything. But for $89 for optic w/quick detach mount you cant beat the price point.

Be careful - the last thing you need is your rifle asking you, "Do these rail covers make me look fat?"

My cousin has one on his rifle, its solid enough. The quick release isnt really a quick release in the QR mount sense, its more like an emergency release. The optic itself is definitely decent enough for range use.

Thanks! The grip is made by CAA:
http://www.commandarms.com/product.asp?pID=155&cID=11

The lower in that picture is actually the lower from my Sabre Defense 16" middy. When I finally get around to building the dedicated lower for hers, It will most likely get either a Magpul MIAD or Tango Down grip along with an ACS stock.
