Sold pending funds on another forum. Thanks for looking.
This is a Remington Mohawk 48 12 Gauge. I contacted Remington and they say that it may very well be chrome from the factory, but they can't say for certain. It's about the same vintage as the Nylon 22's like the Apache, etc, so I think it probably is chrome. It was full choke, but had steel through it, so now it's more of a modified choke. Here's what Wisner's has to say: Model 48 Mohawk: This gun was apparently a final clean up of the 11-48 & the 48 Sportsman parts. They appeared a few years after the previous models were discontinued. They were usually found with walnut stained birch wood. Possibly distributed thru some of the mass merchandisers.
