Angry Did I Do Something Wrong???

I bought a package that is enough for four mags. I have C Products Mags, ten rounders (only) - of course, California laws, blah blah.

I installed per directions and even measured carefully for the 1/4", etc, etc.

The product (magazine) is described as this, "10 round stainless steel magazine with black follower, black finish and robotically welded"

The Ultimate Bullet Button went on flawlessly. The drilling was not easy but I got it done as the 1/4" put the spot over a 'robotically welded' weld! Heheh.

At the range I could only fit 7 (seven) rounds into the 10 rounder (that fit 9 in stock form) and I don't know if this is expected? Or I did something wrong? Or i put it together wrong... but seven rounds really bites!

Tell me what I did wrong? Thanks... very much.

Send me a pic. Something sounds funny. I've had a few guys have a problem getting a tenth round in and it turned out to be a molded post on the plastic follower. Is it a Cprod mag or one of the cheap Chinese ones?

I got a package of these to try out with my last Riflegear order, I should have got two...

When I installed mine in C-products mags the 1/4" was going to be in the edge of the spot-weld so I moved up to 5/16 which cleared the weld. I didn't use a 1/8 bit, that's much larger than the screw. I think I used a #36, not sure since I didn't pay attention. Since the screw is passing through two layers of materiel it's easy to countersink the hole for the screw head so it's almost flush inside the magazine. If you do that it will not interfere with the follower.

Hi DougJ,

I'm glad you like them. Yes, the spot weld can be a problem with the stainless mags but aluminum ones are no problem. We've installed several thousand tips on Cprod mags and the spot weld is NEVER in the same place. We go below the weld as opposed to above.

I had experimented with a countersink, as you did, and found that a larger hole (1/8") produced almost the same result and saved a step without sacrificing strength.

I appreciate all feedback positive or negative. It makes for a better product.

Hi John,

Thanks for the bump.

I do have something new coming out soon. We were hoping to debut the first 5 production models at the Cow Palace show this weekend but I won't have them done in time. I'm busy working out the bugs, suppliers, and logistics for long run production when I'm not working the day job!!!

I'll email you a pic but please don't post it.

I was just thinking about you the other day. We're still in the middle of the learning curve on the whole UBBT thing but its been pretty exciting and exhausting so far.

I'm working on another project that you might like. I'll email you a pic when I get a chance. I noticed that guy had the CTR plates available again a while back??
