I'm halfway through with my first AR Build, the upper is complete.

WHAT I HAVE BOUGHT:
Magpul Rail Panels (Qty 4): $5.20 x4 of these: $20.80
Magpul Utility/Battle Stock: $201.40
Magpul Pistol Grip: $15.92
Magpul BAD Bolt Catch: $22.76
EOTech 512 Red Dot: $375
Gas Tube: $13
Blackhole Barrel: $200
Troy BattleRail TRX Extreme 11": $175
VLTOR MUR-1S Upper: $171
Troy Low Profile Gas Block: $35
Magpul Angled Foregrip: $35
PWS Flash Suppr. Compensator: $100
VLTOR BCM Gunfighter Charging Handle: $46
RRA Chromed Bolt Carrier Group: $130
Total Tax and Shipping: $100
Total: $1,640.88

WHAT I STILL NEED TO BUY:
Mega Lower: $193
Lower Parts Kit: $50
Timney Trigger: $190
Subtotal: $433
Total: $2073.88

Also, if anyone in the North County area has a lower they don't mind shooting with my upper, I'll buy the rounds, you can keep the brass, and shoot like 25% of the rounds too. I just want to test this thing out since i won't have my lower completed for probably a month, and i'm probably gonna need help zeroing the sight.

Sean- OceansideĽ love to shoot almost any thing skeet ,idpa ,steel plate ,cqb , etc.... I just moved back here from Jacksonville NC and am looking for some good outdoors ranges to shoot at. Look forward to getting involved with the calguns community. I have a few steel plates and i can whip them up for any body interested. The ballistic steel is expensive but it is still half the price of what some companies charge. I have to find a supplier in this area first though.

Imperial valley checking in.

I am disappointed with the imperial valley presence on cal guns. With thousands of acres of open farm ground and desert and some of the best dove hunting in the country, I thought their would be a bigger group from the desert. But not a huge following of black rifles over here. Of course living with three guys from Bakersfield in college brought me up to speed with the joys of modern firearms.

Well...I'm here. That makes 2. Maybe we shouldn't tell people 'bout the Valley...they'll come floodin' over and we won't have all this wide open space...

n00b from Carlsbad
still trying to make the 'first purchase' decision for an IDPA / USPSA pistol, pref SSP / Production

Now that decision is more exciting, because I just found out about the whole Single shot exemption thing!

I'm so stoked I might get the pistol I actually want....
