Default Our letter to CA DOJ

The California Department of Justice chose our holiday season to come up with "emergency" regulations and asked for public comment. They only gave a few days over the Christmas weekend and tonight is the deadline (12/28/2016). Attached please find our letter to them written by John W. Dillon of Gatzke Dillon Ballance LLP.

:::UPDATE:::
The CA DOJ has withdrawn their "emergency regulations" regarding the ban of normal capacity magazines. You can see the letter SDCGO wrote to the CA DOJ inn the post below. All the groups provided feedback.
I want to clarify what this means because there appears to be a lot of misunderstanding.
The possession of magazines holding more than 10 rounds will still be banned starting July 1st. That has not changed.
You can find a great timeline on our homepage at www.sdcgo.org
The emergency regulations were specifics on how to implement the magazine ban. The DOJ did it as an "emergency" to expedite the specifics and shorten the amount of time for public feedback. Now they will have to go through the regular process of giving specifics on how they will implement this law.
Again, normal magazines that hold over 10 rounds will still be illegal to posses starting July 1st. You can get rid of your mags or alter them permanently (with a rivet and a block) so they hold 10 rounds.

Here are the regs:
