Default What's your averge round count at the range?

I average about 100 rounds for a 2 hour session at the range. This is with an AR-15 with shooting purpose of precision. What about you guys?

I'll shoot as little as 50 rounds in standing over the course of 4 hours. Maybe another 50 in rapid sitting and rapid prone if I need to verify fundamentals.

I only shoot about 30 rounds, but I just have my bolt action .270 right now. Once I start reloading I will shoot more. Once I get an ar15 built I will shoot about 100 rounds per trip with that. If I end up using it with a .22lr conversion kit, I imagine I will shoot a lot more. The cheaper the ammo is, the more I will shoot.

The last time I went shooting it broke down as 90 rounds of 7.62x54r, 8 rounds of 30-06, and 20 rounds of 5.56

Normally I shoot more but I wasn't able to find ammo for my Mosin on short notice.

Depends on the caliber. I can go through 100 rounds of .22 pretty easily, but I'd probably only shoot about 35 rounds of .308, or 25 rounds of .338 or .50. I'd guess about 50 rounds on average of pistol calibers.

for pistol I shoot around 150 rounds.

when I go to an outdoor range, I take my bolt action .22 along with my ar. I usually go through a box of the federal 550 pack of 22s and around 80 .223

I plink .22lr nowadays and blow through at least 300 through various firearms. Doesnt make sense nowadays financially to shoot my other guns. Just cant find the ammo locally without getting totally ripped off.

Usually a brick of .22 or slightly more, 75-200 rounds of 12 gauge if I bring that, and if I shoot the M44, maybe 20-60 of 7.62x54R (but it's been a while).

i run about 150-200 rounds per hour, assuming 3-4 toys are an hour session

If only 1-2 toys, then 75-100 rounds

Last time I was at the range I fired 140 rounds in about 2 hours, all from my AR...but there was a lot of downtime in there because I was zeroing my irons and my Aimpoint for the first time.

Usually shoot 5.56mm. Usually go about once every four months, not much. Usually fire somewhere around 200 rounds, just plinking at the local indoor range.

My last trip I shot about 100 rounds of 5.56 and 40 7.62*51.

Before that I shot about 240 rounds of 5.56 and 20 7.62*51.

If the 100 yard steels would have been up I would have shot a lot more the last time.

Yesterday I was at Burro Canyon and I shot 50 rounds out of my M1A and a 100 round box of 9mm out of my P228. After maybe 25 rounds I just shot for fun at aggressive bushes and piles of rocks.

Yeesh! I thought I was being conservative with my low round counts--this past weekend, only 600 to 700 rnds of 9mm in a handgun course, and a month ago, 800 rnds of 5.56 plus 300 rnds of 9mm in a tactical carbine course. And 300 rnds 5.56 at the last Appleseed in March.

Others at the same courses shot as much as double my round count!

The next Appleseed, I will probably shoot 500 to 600 rnds, but I'll be using .22LR.

Usually 200-400, split between 2-4 guns, per couple hour session.

I only shoot enough to reconfirm zero, probably around 50 rounds or less. I try to save all of my ammo for classes or matches. Shooting on the square range is not fun enough to justify shooting hundreds of rounds at a time.

I'll usually shoot a box for each gun I bring, either 20 or 50 rounds depending on whether it's a rifle or a handgun. On top of that I'll usually blow through anywhere between 100 and 300 rounds of .22 lr using my Ruger 22/45.

Normal range trip:

- 150 of 9mm from G17
- 50 of 45 from G21
- 100 of XM913 from AR15
- 30 of .308 from AR10

If before an IDPA match add another 100 of 9mm.

wow, after reading some of the comments I feel extremely lucky to be able to shoot 1500+ rounds a day of 9mm. I work for FMK firearms and you guessed it I have the greatest job in the world testing the 9C1 handgun
