Default CB help

Does anyone know of a shop in the Bay Area that has and can install cb/antennas?

No, but you can use a magnet mount for the antenna and use a cigarette lighter adapter for the power, then you can move it from vehicle to vehicle.

You will still want to have the antenna tuned for low SWR for maximum efficiency.

True. Some radios have a SWR meter built in. If not, you should get one. It should be checked from time to time.

Awesome...glad you said that. I found a magnet mount and the cigarette lighter hook up, but wasn't sure if that would work. Good to know that I was over thinking it. Now I'm deciding between 102" whip with tie down or 5' fire stick.

With a larger whip or Firestick style antenna, you may want to be careful with magnet mounts. They're great for smaller antennas, but I've had some issues with magnet mount antennas getting blown off in higher winds. Depending on the style of vehicle, a lip mount may be more practical.
