I dont see any issues that would down grade the firearm. New cost is 1600, so 1200 or so is max, but whatever you get is what you get.

I'm looking to trade the rifle not sell, On that account do you guys think when trading/selling guns that you should get more value for it trade rather than sell?

potentially, but you almost never get what you paid into them building them separately. My last 3 builds have been for me, not for an kind of a profit and they're probably not worth what I put into them. Lots of money man...

Consider that a new quality complete lower is $250, a BB can be had for $20, a new VLTOR Casv can be bought for $270, and the LMT SOPMOD can be found new for $170, I'd lower the expected sale price of the complete rifle. Other things may also have cheaper prices but those seemed to jump out at me.

I'm not expecting to get $1600.. just a reference of what cost was to me when I purchased.

no offense but without the BUIS i think your looking at about 1k give or take 100 . Most people are going by what products retail on CG not MSRP.

It's sort of supply and demand right now. You could have gotten a premium 10-12 months ago but now that things have calmed down you can find almost anything and most at a good price. With that said you'll looking at $1000-$1100 range....but again...it's going to depend also on what you're trading for and what the other person wants.

I understand it's a buyers market right now, I would never sell in these times. Trade is good because, sure I might be only able to get $1200 cash which would be the least I would sell it for, But for someone that is taped with money not needing money but just tired of an old to them gun and being it's a buyers market not having luck selling a new $1600 gun for $1200 that's where I come in. This is my strategy which HAS been working for me

another consideration, no has said, is that one of the benefits you do have is that it is built.. so yeah, you can break the price down by piece and come to a value, but some people do not want to build it piece by piece so having a complete, ready to fire weapon is worth more money so the individual break down cost of each piece means little to some buyers.

Trade or not, you are competing with a market that has had the floor drop out. That is what you are competing with. Most people will look at the $800 rifle and the $1200 rifle and go with the cheaper. Just my observation.

You don't get to trade it at a higher value than it would sell for.
The guy you are trading with does not get a higher value either for what he is trading though so it all works out.

Perhaps both of you can inflate what you think your trading fodder is worth and both will feel good about the trade though...

Have you thought about going out and shooting it?

If you want to trade it you just have to find something you're willing to let it go for. You might find the 1911 guy that doesn't have an AR or you might find the hardwood floor/granite counter top guy that would trade you some side work for it. Doesn't HAVE to be gun related just HAS to be someone who wants the gun.

Good name upper rifles are probably $1200 max. It's still a frankenrifle so the newbies will shy away from that because, like me, they want the rifle to be factory and not trust some random person to build the same rifle in their basement/garage. I built mine though so go figure.

Something is ONLY worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

My guess is $800-$1200 depending on buyer and trade fodder.
