Purchased it in .40cal, but highly considering picking up a drop in .357SIG barrel for kicks.

Centr0, i just got a barely used Sig P226 from another calgunner recently. This is a 1992 model made in W. Germany. He said it only had around 500 rounds through it which means its still getting broken in. I took it to the range without cleaning it or lubing it (previous owner did) and with my little handgun experience, i shot 150 rounds with no problems what so ever. I was also doing 2 inch groupings @ 30 feet. I bet i could do alot better with practice. Even the aftermarket promag 10 round magazine worked amazingly! Did i mention i love the way it fits in my hand? You probobly get my point.

If i could use one word to describe these guns...FLAWLESS!

Nice! My Sig P226 was my first handgun purchase, back in '93. Still have it and still love it.

My 226 clears DROS on 4/19, 5:00PM. Exactly a month before my birthday.

One of these days I hope to be able to shoot a sig. I've held either a 226 or 229 (can't remember) when I was at the last gun show and i really like how they feel, but I want to see how they shoot.

Gratz on your new gun

Don't forget that you can swap in a factory .357 Sig barrel and get a 9mm conversion barrel from EFK and Bar-Sto. That is why I love the P226 and P229, is the versatility to possibly 3 different calibers. You could also get silly and get a 22LR conversion as well.

Here's mine in .40 cal. And I specifically went out and got a .357 sig barrel. At an indoor range, everyone looked at my lane when I shot that thing. Distinct and loud.

How do you like that sig light? I was thinking about picking one up. I like the lever action to turn on the light that other models use so I am hesitant about that one. Any details would be appreciated!!
