Default Wood Furniture for AR-15!!

Had to throw this out there...sorry if it's been discussed already..........MORE PICS ADDED TO PAGE 6 FROM ANOTHER AR WOOD FURNITURE SITE!!!

these websites have wood furniture for your AR-15 series rifles. I'm not a proponent of Wood on AR's, but i think it's interesting. apparently RRA is doing kits for only $150....could be worth it, what do you think?

http://www.rockriverarms.com/index.c...ategory_id=393

This company (called IronWood Designs) seems to be making some really nice quality stuff....for $275

http://www.ironwooddesigns.com/IWDsite/IWDAR15.html

i'M NOT AFFILIATED WITH THESE COMPANIES, I JUST FELT LIKE THROWING THIS OUT THERE BECAUSE I FOUND IT INTERESTING.I PERSONNALY LIKE BLACK SYNTHETIC....DON'T HATE ON ME!!!

That is like being a Republican and voting for Obama, or a Red Sox fan wearing a Yankees jersey. It's just not right...

That's the point of an AR-15, to look like an AR-15. To each his own though.

Synthetic for the AR, and wood for the AK (Russian Red)...at least that's how I like it.

EH not even remotely interested. There are guns that look good with wood furniture. AR's are not one of those guns

I've seen the third one up close in person. I would put it on a bench gun but not a carbine. It has a fair amount of heft to it as well.

I don't really like AR15 "wood" furniture, but those are some of the best looking I have seen so far.

looks like an AR and an AK went out for drinks one night. Both got a little too trashed, and someone didn't want to use protection...

Doesn't matter what it's carrying, that English Walnut (bottom pic) looks beautiful.

But no, no wood on ARs................................or my AKs for that matter.

But that English Walnut stock makes me think I might need a new single shot bird-gun........Hmmmmm.

I'll be the weird one and say I actually kind of like it. I don't like the black/gray scale one but the natural wood kind of looks cool in a different sort of way. Its one of those conversation pieces at the range anyway if you have too many AR's and want something to add "Character" to one.

I kind of like it. Well, at least some of them. Here's one that I would love to own:

I'll have to go with Bombadillo on this. I like the walnut. I like having 'odd' stuff that rocks the boat a little.

But this one is hideous. Looks like an AR with some kind of wood cancer.

The carbine black laminated set on the bottom looks "decent" I think. Maybe if it was a dedicated woods gun that I used for hunting only. But other than that i'd rather not have wood on my AR. But on an AK, wood furniture and iron sights only IMHO.

I'll also jump on the "like it" bandwagon, but with a caveat. It would be cool on a bench / varminter gun only, especially the darker color. i would not put it on a carbine of any sort.

The regular AR stocks are ugly stick ugly.

However, that thumbhole stock with the synthetic foregrip would look really nice in a different color I think. Hell, that Ironwood Designs stuff IS beautiful, it just looks bizarre on an AR.

Fugly, but to each their own. I like my AR blacked out but that's my preference. There are some nice FDE and tan ARs so someone could probably make an appealing wood furniture one too.

I could see the buttstock only as being useful for a bench gun.
Heavy or bull barrelled uppers can make these rifles so front heavy, adding a little mass on the backside by means other than a lead plug behind the trapdoor.

I like the Amish AR's in Walnut, for something different. To have it added to the Springfield 03A3, Garand, M1 Carbine, M1A walnut furniture case, would be badass IMO.....to see them all racked and ready.

I like it! Maybe gold anodizing and a hard chromed exterior on the barrel! Kind of a gun "M" would make for James Bond

The walnut actually looks good IF you have a shorter (20 round ) magazine in it for some reason - gives it a traditional FAL look. tryputting your finger across the mag in the picture. I like it.
