Cooler but still can you put a front grip on a featureless?

Sorry, the forward pistol grip is an evil feature. Can't have any of these on a featureless gun:

(this used to be CA PC 12276.1(a)(1)(A-F)), haven't got the new numbers memorized yet)
Pistol Grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
Thumbhole Stock.
Folding or Telescoping Stock.
Grenade Launcher or Flare Launcher.
Flash Suppressor.
Forward Pistol Grip.

Just replaced the Monsterman grip on my Romy with the Solar Tactical grip. I like it a lot, and it feels very comfortable. I think I will build a featureless AR to use with my pre-ban magazines.

Do you realize that the BattleComp 1.5 can be classified as a flash hider?

It's very risky on a "featureless" rifle.

I actually just built 2 more featureless rifles, a 308 class 260 Remington AR and another 5.56.

I blind pinned the VLTOR I put on the 5.56, and added 2 button head 6-32 allen screws as well. I drilled and tapped the buffer tube in the adjustment area, went 3/4's of the way through and then used a bottom tap to thread.

The storage compartments still rotate open easily.

Those running BattleComps on featureless rifles are playing with fire. The BC 1.5 is most definitely a flash suppressor. The BC 1.0 is as well due to Hunt v. Lockyer and the manufacturer's claim of flash suppression capabilities. However, it's not been litigated yet. Posting pics of your rifle with the BC is making it easy for a hungry D.A.

If WE are lucky, YOU will get to be the test case and answer the $250,000 question.

Stag 6H upper on a custom lower. It has a Radlock, but I added the Solar Tactical wrap so I could drop mags if I want.

Sorry man, everything I hear is that the PRS is a very grey area. It does collapse/telescope, even if only the buttpad. :/

Just got my brand new SGL-21 home!!! Threw on a grip wrap, pulled off the mag lock, slammed in an old commie steel AK mag, and took this pic to brag about it

Top AK is a Saiga 7.62x39 conversion I did myself. Bottom one is my new Arsenal SGL-21, which is basically an AK-103. Plan to keep that one stock and run irons, cause I got it to keep it as close to the AK-103 as I can. Also got it to have a 2nd rifle that can take advantage of my 7.62x39 stash I've been growing. Also I wasn't sure I was going to get another chance to buy a brand new SGL-21 when I came upon it in the shop. Much easier to find the SGL-23, but not a good choice for a featureless setup.

Addressing collapse/telescope...

" A telescoping stock (alternatively collapsing stock) is a stock on a firearm that telescopes or folds in on itself in order to become more compact. Telescoping stocks are useful for storing a rifle or weapon in a space that it would not normally fit in. "

Can you , with a straight face...describe the PRS to fit the description above ?

The PRS in it's shortest LOP adjustment ( It's described by Magpul as LOP adjustment , not a collapse or telescope.) is HUGE...LONG...and HEAVY mounted on a rifle length buffer tube.

The intent of the law was written to address making the firearm more easily concealed/more compact , the PRS is the polar opposite of that....it is as long as a standard A2 stock ...with an LOP adjustment that only gets longer than that A2.

A scrap public defender would wax the floor with an elite DA when he walked in with a little ole entry stock like below ( MUCH shorter than a standard A2 stock , and legal to use on a featureless ) right after the DA explained to the judge how the evil PRS can be collapsed into a tiny stock to be concealed under a hoody and used to kill innocents.

The PRS and AFG are common sense slam dunks for featureless firearms by merit of how they actually function, easily shown/explained by the simplest of minds.

I completely agree as far as common sense is concerned. It's obviously not a stock that collapses or folds. That being said, 12276.1(a)(C) states "A folding or telescoping stock.", and the buttpad does telescope.

Look, if I'm wrong, I'd love to hear it. But all the "right people" threads on here I've read say it's grey and you shouldn't eff with it. Point me to Bill or Gene or Brandon or Oak saying it's a-ok, and I'll take off the VFG and slap a solar wrap on my SDM-R *TONIGHT* and raise a toast to you for the help.

EDIT: Asked Brandon what he thought about it, got this (posted with permission):

PRS on a featureless build: I'm scouring all the damned threads, and can't find a definitive answer. Is that one of those "do at your own risk" things, or more like "If you get arrested with your legally configured fixed magazine build, call Calguns"?

Brandon Combs
PRS?

GettoPhilosopher
I've assumed "grey, don't touch it", but I'm having disagreements with other calguns members
Magpul PRS stock

Brandon Combs
I dunno what it is

GettoPhilosopher
http://lh6.googleusercontent.com/pub...6CifBiGTPT39so

Brandon Combs
Does is collapse

GettoPhilosopher
target stock. it has an adjustable LOP buttpad, and people are torn on whether it is a "telescoping stock" or not
that's the question.
the buttpad has two rods (one threaded) that go into the stock. A wheel pushes the buttpad out and in.

Brandon Combs
adjustable != telescoping, but that's an afirmative defense
that requires experts

GettoPhilosopher
*nods*
so more of a grey, "use at your own risk" area.
unless I feel like being a test case and paying my atty fees.

Brandon Combs
yep
We might be able to help

GettoPhilosopher
Thanks. That's what I've figured.

Brandon Combs
But it's not 100% certain

GettoPhilosopher
alright, thanks.
yeah, and I don't make enough money to die on that hill.
mind terribly if I post part of this convo in one of the threads?

Brandon Combs
Sure

GettoPhilosopher
alright, appreciate it man. Thanks for your time.

I agree with you, but lets keep in mind intent is only one facet, and while a case may be a slam dunk to walk away from with any half a55ed defense, lets not forget that it is generally advisable to avoid court altogether. Sad that this is a consideration against our constitutional rights.

I know this is a pictures thread but I'm thinking a video is just a bunch of pictures played sequentially so it may be kosher here...

Saw this posted over in another thread about the Bullet Button documentary movie. Awesome action sequence showing a Calgunner using a Hammerhead equipped featureless rifle in rapid fire:

Here's how mine sits now. I'm going to swap the rail soon, but otherwise she's all set.
