Default F%$#!!! Got Fingerprinted for ammo Purchase today!!!

Apparently Carson's law has gone into effect now... Any crime with a .357 Mag involved in a Gangbanger shooting around Carson will result in a visit from the cops now... Maybe if they get the balistics off of my gun the first time, they will leave me alone... CRAP!

100 Rounds... Felt like I would seem real suspicious if I didn't complete the sale... Makes me a bit sick...

That's great... more bother for those that are honest people, and at the same time, does nothing to hinder crime.

So does that law only include loaded ammunition or is it any pistol ammo components?

Law makers will never figure it out. Gang bangers don't buy guns or ammo. They steal it.

Correct, AB962 does not go into effect until Feb 2011, not January 2010 (that was from an earlier draft of the bill).

And not Feb 2010 like I read in my brand new issue of Small Arms Review (email already sent to the writer informing him of the error).

whoops on my part.... didn't realize they changed that part of the bill in the final revision. just read up on it and yea it is feb 2011. so nvm, my trip to vegas will only have ammo purchase if it is cheaper than what i can get local/online

then that means all those gun stores that are requiring all this fingerprinting i can ignore? since i legally don't have to give my fingerprint.

Depends on where you are. In Sacramento and I believe LA it's local law, and enforceable.

Only complete cartridges - see link to the Wiki article.

If you know any bricklayers or masons have them pick up ammo for you. Most of those guys haven't had detectable fingerprints for years.

Youtube the process.

Yeah, sorry if I scared anyone, this is a CARSON law, but does seem to be what the state has coming for us all 2/11...

The Big 5 at the Carson mall doesn't sell Firearms, but has always had the hard to find ammo, regardless of how dry the well was... That may be the only store that sells ammo in the whole city... Needless to say I will never set foot in that place again, and will not purchase anything else in that city if I can avoid it...

I was figerprinted once for buying 25 rounds of .410. I just stopped buying ammo within the City of LA. Now, I just reload instead. While I don't have anything to hide, I don't like the extra invasion of privacy either.

Just clean out your online retailers this year. My plan is to be positively stuffed to the gizzard with .40 and .45 by this time in 2010.

^^^ me too. I've heard guys at gun stores say the same thing. Feb 2010 - I thought it was 2011.

And it's true about bricklayers and masons or anybody in hard physical labor. Every time I print one you just get a smudge of ink.

No self respecting gang banger shoots a 357 magnum, just not the look they want to convey.

357 dosen't realy rym with anything that they might be singing to themselfs while walking down the street or sitting in there Buick La Sabre.

9 on the over hand ryms with just about anything

9 - , da ***** was mine, commiting da crime. doing hard time, stole my last dime. etc.

357 magnum is such the roll model round.

4 or 5 shopping trips to Arizona every year will keep me in PRIVATE ammo.

I would've walked out. This won't stop until the retailers start squawking. A lot of these BS laws get passed with their tacit approval (i.e. SB 15). With the passage of AB 962 I am using friend's addresses for internet purchases and picking them up along with store purchases during my annual out-of-state hunting and fishing trips. Screw these bastards

it isn't but many stores (besides those in cities that already have it in place, ie Carson, Los Angeles, etc) are starting to collect the info as to get into the habit of doing so. think of it as pre-training for employees

You should've showed the store how you feel with your wallet...

Don't purchase any ammo in Carson.
