Default slugs in a H&R pardner

So kind gentlemen

I was wondering if it was safe for me to fire slugs in my H&R pardner modified choke 28" barrel? If so, where can i find inexpensive slugs? Been to a few big 5 and couldnt find anything.

Thanks in advance

Should be, find them at walmart. If not try sports authority or gun stores

Yes, it perfectly safe and the modified choke is the best choke for slugs in any smooth bore. Just use plain rifled slugs like Remington sluggers.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

Wonder if that ball&chain shot is legal here in CA.....found some online and it looks oh so sweet. Would suck if it gets caught in my choke and effs up my barrel.

Is this a single-shot, fixed choke, or Pardner pump with screw-in choke? I had both, and they are really nice shotguns.

I haven't fired slug from either, but the single-shot, being only like 5.5 lbs has fierce recoil even with birdshots. I got all bruised up first time I shot it (12 gauge) and always slipped on LimbSaver afterwards. Felt recoil of a slug from the single-shot without any padding must be absolutely tremendous !!

Yeah those single shot pardners seem to be pretty tough recoiling. Still, I'm sure any slug would work for ya. And it won't really hurt your gun..... Just you.

IMO all 2 3/4 shells that are the same oz feels the same. Maybe because after 20k my shoulder had lost it's nerve or it's built a catlas. Haha but the single shot does have more kick. I shot a 20g topper and the stock jammed my collarbone. Yes, the reach was too short but damn it hurt!
