Default question about my AR pistol BCG function.

I took my AR pistol shooting at Burro yesterday. For the most part it worked fine, however, after the last round was fired the bolt did not stay open. I use pmags and I run a heavy "H" buffer. Also, everyone in a while, about every 20 rounds or so, it would not eject the cartridge or it would, but would not chamber a new round. I checked the gas key on the BCG to see if it had a leak (I had this problem before). Then, I took of my quad rail to check the gas block. I noticed one of the screws was stripped, but it held in place fairly well and the gas block was on nice and tight. At this point, I did not know what else to check and was stumped. Any suggestions?

Do the mags & lower fuction properly with a rifle upper? (locking back last round)

What you're describing is short stroking

What ammo are you using?

Where (how far in air & angle) does your brass eject?

Do you see any evidence of gas leaks?

Is the carrier key & gas rings tight?
