Back in Asia when they say Colt 45 it means a 45 ACP semi-automatic definitely, here in the US may be a SAA? It means to me a 1911.

When I hear Colt .45 I think "at least he didn't say 45 Long Colt". That bugs me.

i voted for the 'malt' option, but almost voted 'other'...

when i hear 'colt 45', the absolute first thing that pops into my head is specifically "...gets the job done", ala Lando Calrissian...

now, when I hear '45', without the 'colt' in front, then the first thing I think of is my venerable .45, as in 1911...

i guess for me 'colt' is the modifier on that one...

my $0.02

Colt 45 is a brand name for malt liquor, and that's the first thing that comes to my mind.

Singing afroman "crazy rap" at a field party. I actually saw afroman at a concert in a nightclub in bakersfield. He didn't even need to sing "colt 45". He's only popular with the college / party crowd.

The Original "Houston Astros" 1962-1964.

The name was chosen because Houstonians had say in the naming. Joe Morgan, Jimmy Wynn, and Rusty Staub debuted in those uniforms in 1963.

Would it PO you guys if I say, "I love baseball more than I do my guns!"
