I went to Panoche Hills for the first time yesterday. I had a fellow employee who had advised me (a gun newbie) on my gun purchases pass away from a heart attack while at work last week. He and I had recently discussed driving out to Panoche Hills to see what it would be like. In his memory (a really great guy...we will miss you Warren), I went there, alone.
I really did not know what to expect, the directions on the BLM web page could be better...but I finally found it. It was beautiful up there, green grass, rolling hills and I was all alone. I saw two gentlemen park down below me, they fired two shots and then left (?). I will have to go back again soon...only 90 miles from home..and no range officers to tell me I cannot draw from a holster or double tap! |

I go there alot. Yes it is a good place to shoot, as you can double tap all you want.

That's awesome, glad to hear you went to check it out and sorry to hear about your coworker. Life is short, go shoot more often. I'm going to try to check it out before fire season starts up again.
