Best BCG available for an AR 15, LMT, BCM, CMMG, RRA, etc.... and why?

Colt, because they build them off the technical data package..they shoot the bolt with over pressured round and do a magnetic particle inspection for any defects or cracks..cost more, but the best bolt money can buy,...

I would follow it with Bravo company which are also MPI.

LMT comes in third.

FailZero is the best. I've got one been using it for about 6 months and it works like a charm, no lube needed!

Maybe the Les Bear NM bolt carrier:

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=3...h_Bolt_Carrier

I thought about getting one for one of my Service Rifle competition guns.

I got a Young Manufacturing National Match chrome bolt. From their site.

Our signature product, the National Match Bolt Carrier by Young Manufacturing, Inc. This bolt carrier is 1/2 oz heavier and has more surface area at the carrier front. These additions provide improved alignment of the bolt carrier as it moves in the receiver, tighter tolerances, more consistent bolt-lockup, and generally much smoother operation. This bolt carrier causes less wear, improved accuracy, and overall better function. All Y/M carriers are made using these high standards. The extra precision, quality, and post production processes are among the reasons Les Baer Custom and other top custom companies choose Young Manufacturing, Inc bolt carriers. You should too! (Available in AR-15 and M-16)

I prefer Colt, but have used many unmarked mismatch parts. No problems yet.

BCM (FA) is my first choice. I use them in the majority of my ARs, and I have a spare BCM bolt and parts also. I have one rifle with an LMT and it's fine.

I know that Young Manufacturing makes the N/M in AR-15 and M16 platforms. A complete Young N/M M16 would run you about $230-$240. I have one and it is blingy...

http://www.newriverarms.net/product-...hp?pid110.html

I also have 2 COLT M16's...

Did COLT ever have a chrome BCG???

That and M16/M4 having the firing pin shrouded. If it meets that you should be good to go.

The DD BCG's seem to be easy to find at the moment and at $129 are fairly priced.

My friend has the Les Baer National Match bolt carrier 'Slickside' model in his spacegun. He seems to like it.

My bolt cost more than the upper receiver, so financially, the receiver would be cheaper expendable part.

I have a stag arms that keeps jamming, either the magazine isnt loading correctly, the primer isnt strong enough, or my BCG is just weak.

i lubed it up real nicely and shot her wet, and i had FIVE jams. The round would get stuck and the BCG would only go half way, i had to drop the magazine and pull back the CH to get the round out.

Every round that got stuck had a huge indent on it, i had to throw away all those bullets, kinda surprised the brass didnt stress enough to explode.

But my question was, who makes Stag arms BCG? Should i replace with a colt or something more reliable. i do not like jams and i dont like throwing away ammo.

A little off topic aren't we?

But to help you get started, what kind of ammo/chamber/mag/etc are you using?

And to the OP, I say BCM FA BCGs are the way to go.

I went with BCM. I had a LMT in my hands and was not satisfied. I sold it and got the BCM. Very impressed.

i got my m16 young N/M BCG for 200 from PK around may. I think it was a listing error because the next day they changed it to the non match version and increased the price slightly.

Definitely is blingy and probably overkill for my rifle but at that time, a BCG was not only hard to find, but most "generic" BCG's were around the 200 mark due to scarcity.

Isn't Denny's just a Young carrier with BCM and LMT parts? Colt and BCM deserve their place at the top of everything AR. Young makes great stuff and it seems Fail Zero does deserve a place in all of this.
