Default WHERE DO YOU FIND A GOOD AK PARTS KIT?

just curious. I'm new on here, and am trying to figure stuff out. So far, from what I've read, parts kits require you to manufacture a lower receiver, which can be stamped out, or you can find one that just needs drilling???

what are all the tools you would need to manufacture a lower, and a parts list would be great! (in order)

I'm very interested in building my own AK, not buying one complete. Some of the tools relate to cars, so I dont mind buying them.....matter of fact, I need a drill press, and a press anyways

Really just looking for some direction, thanks guys!!

oh, and how do you tell fully auto stuff that may come in parts kits, any pics of FA, and non FA??thanks again!

Huge resource for AK builds.
http://www.ak-builder.com/

Most AK parts kit's will have the offending parts removed. However, if you should come accross these extra parts, discard them.

The FCG pin (lower right) is fine to have, and the disconnector can be modified (lower left) for semi auto fire although most people just buy a US made FCG for compliance anyway.

Hang on, don't go buying all the tools you think you need just for one build! Find and attend a build party instead! Don't tell anyone just yet but, I might be able to host another BP or two soon. This time, we might even be able to live fire our builds during the party! The catch is that it would be 3 miles up a dirt road in Canyon Country. It'll be a month or two before I want to start planning one though. Just keep watching for a new thread on the subject or PM me around Oct. 1.

hey, thanks guys! Sorry for originally posting this in the wrong section So it seems between $200-400, should get you a decent parts kit. All that would be needed to complete, would be a flat, some rivits, and tools of course? I appreciate all this help, I'm learning as I go. I will keep an eye out for a build party, and should have the parts by then. Can somebody please let me know exactly, besides the parts kit, flat and rivits, I would need? Kind of like a run down, I would appreciate it. I've never attempted to build a AK or any gun for that. So I'm not sure on all thats involved. Thanks again!
