We should have these type of people in charge in Kali... Maybe then we would have some rights!

Nevada is a traditional OC state, however, doing so on any part of Las Vegas Strip is highly frowned upon and will probably wind up costing whomever tries it their firearm!

I just completed Nevada ccw training last weekend and instructor who is LEO told us this!

You can download and print an application right off the state web site. I do not have the URL in front of me but do a google search for New Hampshire CCW application and it will come up!

As far as West Virginia is concerened I looked up their attorney general web site and it says they only honor resident permits. Your Texas CHL may be good there since you are Texas Resident, however, Utah non-resident is not honored!
West Virginia Attorney General's Website:

Notice!
This office has reached updated reciprocity agreements with the states of South Carolina, Florida and Pennsylvania. It is anticipated that updated agreements will be reached in the near future with Arizona, Tennessee, Virginia and Utah as updated agreements have been sent to them. Updated agreements were necessary given the 2009 Legislature’s passage and the Governor’s approval of H.B. 3314. In part, H.B. 3314 allowed West Virginia for the first time to honor non-resident licenses issued by reciprocity states. The law went into effect July 10, 2009.
Things are changing as we speak.

As for some early posters who said they have CA CCW with color pictures on them and not being ex-LEO, are these permits in credit card form in appearance? Regardless, this tells me that CA is in violation of their own law as written in the PC. They are supposed to be uniform through out the state. My CA CCW is as thin as toilet paper and my FL like a credit card with color pic. Also, my FL is a 5 year, which changed after I received mine a couple years ago.

BTW FL. requires a firearms safety/training course certificate when applying for the permit, so that complies with NV. My FL. is 5 years, which also complies with NV. My FL. has a color pic, which complies with NV. So yes, it's about$$!

Side note:

If you're a VET, a copy of form DD-214 ( Military service separation papers) will suffice to meet FL. weapon training certificate requirements..

My research has led me to the conclusion, that all states NV recognises under their reciprocity agreements, does NOT issue non resident permits. NV has closed that door! So, if you want NV back, you need go there for the course!

Nevada does not have "reciprocity." NV does have criteria in statute to determine whether other states Carry Permit can be "recognized." Also, according to the standards set forth by NRS concerning recognition of other state permits, UT didn't meet the requirement in the first place. And, had Florida been 5 year renewal, they would still be recognized. In fact, if FL were to change to a 5yr renewal like current NV statute, I see no reason they would not get recognized again in the future.

Though I DO see basis for your position, I do not agree that it is the driving force in the decision, but is a concidence.

Although there is a legal distinction between reciprocity and recognition it makes little difference to someone who is ccw in Nevada. If the permit is recognized in Nevada then it is irellevent.

I think that calling it "recognized or reciprocity" at this point, is really splitting hairs a bit. Besides, it doesn't matter, using those words in that term, means it's honored. Anyway, as I posted above, if you still have a 5 year FL. permit, it is NOT recognized any longer in NV. Glad I saw all this, me and some friends were riding our motorcycles all over Tahoe/Reno, Carson, Minden, Fernley Sparks etc. glad I didn't pulled over!

Getting Nevada ccw is not difficult. They issue to non-residents. I got mine in Las Vegas several weeks ago.

Another bit of helpful info, Virginia also issues Non-Resident. For those interested, it can be done by mail, again, if you're a Vet, a copy of your DD-214 is sufficient for the weapons training portion of the Non resident requirement. This is easier for us Vets to obtain, should you want one for the Eastern portion of the US..
