The best varmint bullets will not shoot well out of a 1:7 twist.

You might try the 60gr V-Max. I've had some tight twist barrels destroy bullets. No impacts, just puffs of dust. Keep the charges on the low side for a little less rotational velocity.

I like Nolser 50gr. BT's (seated as far as I can and still function in the magazine)

Excellent bullets that perform well out to 200yds on varmints with ARs.

Start with cases trimmed:

Nosler 50gr BT bullet
24.5 gr. H335 powder
CCI BR4 primers

my favorite load is SMK 69 behind 24.9 grains of Varget lighted by a Rem 7 1/2. you can loaded it to mag length. I get <0.5MOA groups out of my 8" twist Armalite NM upper and 26" 9 twist Savage 10FP.

I have a good stock of SMK 224 bullets now but I've been meaning to try Nosler Custom Comp 69, 77 and 80 grainers. All of which will be stablized by 7 twist barrels. My Nosler CC 308s shoot on par with SMKs of the same weights.

My other favorite load, SMK 53gr, 25.5 IMR 4895, Rem 7.5 loaded mag length. .5moa load out of ARs. My Savage doesn't seem to like it much at around 1moa.

If you're gonna varmint hunt, make sure you know about the Condor areas' copper bullet requirement. Barnes Tripleshock is very good too. their 308 copper bullets shoots less than 1MOA out of my stock Rem 700.

80 grain Berger's or JLK's @ 2900 fps, which requires LOTS of N540. Accurate, less wind drift, and explosive like the ballistic tipped bullets.

Factory, I can't beat hornady vmax or black hills 50gr for varmints.

I ran through 850 rounds shooting prairie dogs in South Dakota last month (my first time doing so and it was a hoot!). My AR wears a 1:8 20-inch bull barrel so my results might not be exactly what you're looking for, but since it was my first time for varmint hunting, I tried a couple different loads as I could only get my hands on two types of bullets: 55-grain Sierra BlitzKing HPs and 60-grain Hornady V-Max. Mixed brass, Winchester primers. Had a friend do the loading; had him load a few hundred rounds of each of the following, all with Varget: 25.5 grains and 26.0 grains for the V-Max and 26.0 grains and 26.5 grains for the BlitzKings. I preferred the V-Max and with your 1:7 I suspect you'll favor the heavier bullet as well. To me, it just seemed a bit more consistent, especially at longer ranges (250-500 yards) in windy conditions.
