Default Rick Tubbs For Congress vs. George Miller

Apologies if this is a dupe, but I didn't see anything when using the search mode...

There is a town hall meeting this Friday, April 16 at the Martinez Gun Range. The details are on his site: www.ricktubbs4congress.com

I spoke to him briefly at the Vallejo UOC BBQ; he is for 2A rights. I thought this would be of interest to other Calgunners.

Anyone's better than that Socialist George Miller. Miller is the chairman of the committee that wants to take all of our 401K's and turn them over to the Social Security Administration.

I was just impressed that Rick Tubbs didn't throw away my business card and actually called me

I also like the fact that he's a military man and lives in my county!

Miller is a d-bag. He is the one leading the charge to eliminate farming in the central valley. I can't believe people actually think that is a good idea.

I was going to DVC when Miller first ran for congress. A poli-sci prof brought him into class spouting how good he was. That was over 30 years ago.
Miller needs to go and get a real job, he might then realize the consequences of the crap he got passed into law.

After talking with a few people, there's certainly no disagreement with the comments here.

I agree he can't be worse than Miller however for all the things he says he's going to do he doesn't say at least on his website that he's pro second ammendment. The fact that he showed up to the Vallejo Open carry event and that he is hosting a town hall at a gun range are good signs.

I spoke with him at the Open Carry Event and 2A support oozed from his pores. Without hesitation he stated he wanted shall issue and relaxed gun laws. Pressed further, I asked if he meant more sane laws like say Arizona, Georgia or Florida and he laughed and said, "Yes, sane like those".

I liked him. He's a Lt. Col. in the USAF reserves so we talked Air Force for a bit.

I was at the Martinez Gun Club last night to hear what Rick Tubbs had to say and as I mentioned before, I was impressed. Why?

1. He spoke to me directly -- unlike my current so-called "rep" of District 7. Most guys wave me off, assuming I'm a stupid girl with no independent thought.
2. He again said outright that he's pro 2A and stressed that he flew into the hot zone as an Air Force pilot, transporting supplies for the Good Guys.
3. His answers were again direct and honest -- none of that "legalese" nonsense most attorneys like to surround themselves in.
4. His wife and children passed out flyers in the Iron Triangle in Richmond, escorted by gang members to show the Tubbs family have the spine to speak with the people they want to represent.
5. He understands his web site is flawed, especially since there was no telephone number or mailing address for donations, but he's working on it. He doesn't have deep pockets, so I understand he can't do everything himself and needs our help to win this fight.

If you were unable to attend in Martinez, he responded to the question of securing our borders and how he, as an underdog, will try to get us back on track with fiscal responsibility.

The next town hall meeting in Vallejo -- if you haven't seen his calendar:

Saturday, April 24, 2010
2-4 PM
420 Admiral Callaghan
