Default Does FGI (owns Remington Arms) have a stock symbol?

Remington stock (RACI Holding, Inc) is solely held by FGI (Freedom Group Inc.) as is also majority owner of Bushmaster, DPMS, among others. Is there a stock symbol for Freedom Group Inc.? (They were formerly American Heritage Arms, Inc. as of last year). I would think that a company boasting nearly $400 million in revenue annually (for Remington ALONE) would be on NYSE or ?? . Is FGI privately held? Traded publicly? Know the symbol if so?

About Freedom Group, Inc.

Freedom Group is the world’s leading innovator, designer, manufacturer, and marketer of firearms, ammunition, and related products for the hunting, shooting sports, law enforcement, and military markets. As one of the largest manufacturers in the world of firearms and ammunition, we have some of the most globally recognized brands including Remington, Marlin, Harrington & Richardson, New England Firearms, L.C. Smith, Parker, Bushmaster, DPMS/Panther Arms, EOTAC, and INTC.

Before anyone blurts Olin, I think Olin only purchased the Remington brand name for ammo. Olin stock profiles on Reuters/other websites mention Remington, but I think that is wrong; this is the only mention of Olin in the Remington Company History profile:

"Remington turned over the operation of the Lake City Arsenal in Independence, MO to Olin Corporation. Remington had operated this facility for the U.S. government for more than 45 years."

For anyone suspecting, Spectrum Brands Inc., (SPCB) is NOT affiliated with Remington Arms Company.

Anyone know if FGI is traded publicly? If so, anyone know the parent stock symbol?

"Remington is owned by Cerberus Capital Management."

Private equity.

I thought Cerberus owned Remington,

Quote:
Firearms - Acquired Bushmaster Firearms, Inc., from Windham, Maine native Dick Dyke for an undisclosed sum in April 2006, and purchased Remington Arms in April 2007. Under Cerberus direction, Bushmaster Firearms acquired Cobb Manufacturing, a well-respected manufacturer of large-caliber tactical rifles in August 2007. Cerberus also acquired DPMS Panther Arms December 14, 2007.[24][25] Remington Arms acquired Marlin Firearms in January 2008.[26][27]

Now I recall... sheez! Thanks. It sounds like FGI is a name-only way to truncate the firearms companies in one easy group held by Cerberus? When I saw that, I thought there might have been a sale I missed.

I knew that too! It's Sunday - my memory is lazy.

Thanks again.

As far as I've been able to figure out, the only major firearm manufacturers that trade are RGR and SWHC - if there are others I'd love to know. In the same vein, ATK and ADG are the only two who I can find that are directly related to popular ammunition manufacture.

yup, sounds that way. In a press release about remington buying dakota arms, FGI was mentioned.
