Default Aftermarket Glock slides

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Caspian Glock slides? Thoughts on it? Is it the same slide offered by Long Wolf? I was also wondering what aftermarket glock slide would you recomend? Please share pictures if you have them as well.

Actually I was thinking about getting a glock 34 slide for my glock 22. I like how the aftermarket slide have front cocking serrations.

Have you tried glocktalk? If no one here can help you, I know there should be a lot of help from the people over there.

I am in the process of buying a G34 slide and barrel for my G22 right now actually. I heard Caspian slides are not as precise and as good as quality as the lone wolf is. Also the Lone Wolf offers some neat features like the front cocking serrations and the lower ejection port. I would go Lone Wolf. Good luck finding it though. they have been back-ordered for months now! I have contacted JR from Lone Wolf and all they keep hearing is they're coning soon....and nothing is actually coming in. errr!

I was under the impression that the caspian slides also came with front cocking serrations, on brownells it says it has the front cocking serrations. I hoping to see if anyone might have one and chime in.

I bought two G17 Caspian slides about five years ago. One needed minor fitting and the other did not require any fitting. They looked to be well made and I did not have any problems shooting about two-thousand rounds through them.

I have an aftermarket (LWD, made in Germany iirc) 6" slide assembly.

Once I got the recoil spring rate sorted, it has run 100%.

I have a Lone Wolf 10mm for my 21sf, and absolutely love it. It looks much better than the factory slide IMO, and has been just as reliable as well:

Looks nice, did you have to refinish the lone wolf slide?

No, that's how it came. I literally took it out of the box, slid it on and started shooting. I used to feel my Glock was kinda "boring", now it is as exciting to hold and look at as it is to shoot. And with 10mm it is exciting to shoot too!

They come silver unless you specify otherwise... Call Dan Shepard at Lone Wolf and he'll make you one any way you want it. That's a Lone Wolf barrel on mine too, I had them keep that cheesy wolf logo off my barrel and slide also.

Thanks, Lone Wolf did the finish too, plus the barrel and parts. I just took it out of the box and started shooting...

BTW, Lone Wolf is having a sale on the new manufactured 21 longslides.

I was just wondering anybody know of any other slide manufacturers other than lone wolf or caspian? I see that caspians are available on Brownells, but I'm just trying to see what the options are.

With the next toe reduced to half size from amputation, the big toe got bigger over the years, and periodically sheds the nail.

And yes, it hurts.

Ouch. Good thing you've got such a sweet shooter so you don't gotta run!

ChrisDM,

How long did you have to wait for your 10mm LW slide? I'm trying to get one for my 21sf (great minds think alike! ), but I can't get thru. I tried calling and emailing, but no dice so far....

Also, if you don't mind, how much did that complete slide run you? PM me if necessary. Thanks!

It took a couple months but it was worth the wait. Dan Shepard is a busy guy, but he delivers (eventually)... Mine was almost 600, but that was complete with barrel, sights etc..

600 for everything has me tempted to buy something like that. Seeing I already have the Glock 20sf in 10mm, I'm assuming the 21 slide will fit on mine to bring her up to a .45? Would Glock 21 mags fit, or am I just talking crazy talk?

LWD just emailed me back w/ prices. $225 for slide, $85 for internals, $100 for LW barrel, $50 for laser engraving, $150 for Heinie nite sites. That's $610 for just a complete LWD slide. I can get a NIB G20sf for that kind of money.

$125 for the sights, plus $25 for installation. That's what was quoted to me.

Of course, I can probably buy the sights myself for less, and Glock sight install is a breeze.

Might be cheaper to just buy a 45acp-10mm conversion barrel....

Question, can you change calibers with a new slide? Do they make alternate slides for the 23?

You can change calibers on Glocks within frame families, and it doesn't require a new slide to do it.

Barrel, extractor, ejector and mag.

If you own a 23, you can buy a conversion barrel and shoot 9mm.

If you own a 19, you cannot put a conversion barrel in it because the hole in the slide is too small. You can put a 23 slide on a 19 frame to shoot 40.

I recommend using the correct magazines for the caliber. Its not necessary to change the extractor and ejector but it may increase reliability.
