Default CCW in CA state park

I'm a current CCW holder in CA State Park. I am confident that I am NOT allowed to carry in a CA state park, but my friend says the law recently changed and that permitted holders are allowed to carry.

I think he may be confused with some relatively recent news on National parks, or maybe I'm just late to the party?

Can anyone shed some light here?

That is what is posted at that link. It is an e-mail from the Superintendent of Public Safety Services for the California State Parks.

Yeah. Interesting. The CCR includes no such exemption, yet he said go ahead. I wonder if there is one listed in 12050 somewhere...

Updating this post with this info.

There is no exemption anywhere (even for 830 PCers) except perhaps in the concept of preemption. I looked a few years ago for a codified exemption and remember when a member of CalifoniaCCW/CalCCW sent an e-mail to the Parks Dept. and got that response some months later.

I'd like to know their legal reasoning. Anyone up for a PRA?
