for anyone trying this I belive the matches contain potassium chlorate which is corrosive, clean well.

Hmm I guess he said that , I saw it like 3 weeks ago so I cannot say so or not. If I really had to I would try it, seems like a lot of work. I kinda tried to take apart some small pistol primers, pita!

Interesting, but I don't have that kinda time. Maybe if technology collapses and I don't have a job or anything else to do. Loading up the primers that way sure will kill my 900 rounds per hour pace on the Dillon presses...

I don't think anyone is suggesting this as a good alternative to buying primers from the MFG. I think this is a "here is how you could do this if primers were no longer being sold to the public."

They are corrosive so you do need to clean the gun with water. Chase the water with a good dose of WD40 (WD stand for water displacement) then clean as usual. Also I no longer crush my match heads with a hammer, I now use a round piece of maple. Don't forget your safety glasses and don't blame me if you jump off the bridge after me and blow yourself up!
