Exclamation Skorpion VZ-61 Barrel question.

Do any of you know if the barrel on a Skorpion just comes off ? Is it pressed on kinda like an AK barrel ? or like an AR ? it is easaly removable with basic tools ? Also do you guys know if any place sells Skorpion uppers w barrel ? thanks!

There's a parts diagram on page 12 of the CZ Vz-61 Skorpion manual.

Yeah i have that PDF saved on my comp, but it just shows the upper with the barrel attached. Dosent mention's how its removable.

It's basically a recoil-opperated pistol, so I'm guessing you should be able to take it off in a complete teardown.

Why do you ask?

From Czechpoint's website, in the "supressed VZ-61 section:

"The Scorpion is a natural for a silencer for two specific reasons: (1) the barrel is fixed to the receiver so there is zero chance of cycling issues, and (2) factory loaded ammunition is subsonic."

Remove the barrel pin with a punch, then use a rubber mallet and smack the front of the barrel and it will come right out. For putting in a new barrel slide it in and use a wooden dowel and smack it in with a hammer. Drill new barrel for barrel pin and then drive in the pin with a small hammer. Very easy.
