Default FFL rules for Georgia rifle purchased over internet

I would like to purchase a remington 700 rifle from a private party in Georgia. What does he need to do to make the transfer Calif legal (what forms, etc.) Thanks

As long as it is over 26" long, with a 16+" barrel, it is CA-legal. There aren't any other restrictions for bolt-action rifles as long as it is less than .50" and not a .50BMG rifle.

All he needs to do is ship it to your local FFL. Find out from your FFL if he is willing to accept firearms shipments from private parties, or only from FFLs. The FFL will also tell you what he needs from the seller, usually a copy of an ID or DL.

The FFL will then DROS it to you, and will charge you a transfer fee for the service, usually runs $40-100 + $25DROS fee.

Can a private seller, let say from GB, ship a rifle directly to an FFL here in Kali without going to their home state FFLs?

All the FFL dealers that I have delt with wont take a firearm from a private party. They all required the firearm to come from another FFL.
