This is the second time in two days I've seen a .22 with a muzzle brake. WTH?!?

How about adding a limb-saver pad?

without recoil it wouldn't cycle that heavy bolt...

I muzzle braked one of mine to make minimum oal with the stock folded. it was nothing like that monstrosity in the OP.

mossberg puts a muzzle break on any item they sell.

pretty soon youll see their hunting rifles with muzzle breaks

My 702 is so light, the brake is probably as heavy as the entire rifle.
