Okay! this thread is now 3 years old. I'm just wondering if there has been any new after-market items for the 795?

Several of the links in the first page of the post no longer works.

Boyds has stocks (minor fitting required)
DIP has triggers, trigger guards, rail adapters
Rimfire Technology has bolt handles
Champoin has a 25 round magazine (not for CA but hey it is for the 795)

DIP Triggerguard/Trigger Kit is great and Rimfire Technology's bolt handles make an amazing difference! If I could only do one thing to a 795, it'd be a tough choice between the Tech Sights (on order) and the RT bolt handles.

Last weekend I took out my AR my 795 and my 308AR and I could not keep my 795 out of my hands. Maybe its the cost of ammo, or the reliability, or its general sexiness. I took the scope off and took the bipod off and went with just iron sights and had a blast. Ordered sling swivels and a sling and next check, tech sights.

Only thing I want is a thicker gripping area on the front part of the stock. Anyone marine tex theirs or something? I have a sheet of kydex I was thinking about making a custom forend for it. It just feels like Im holding a toy gun.

So, basically nothing new under the sun. Boyd's still don't make a stock for the 795. DIP is still out of stock on triggers and guards, I can get a nicer bolt handle and there is a 25 round mag built after the old Ram line junk.

Seriously, with the amount of 795s sold by Marlin, doesn't anyone want our money?

I guess I'll check back in another 3 years to see if anything else develops.

JoeBob Outfitters has DIP and Rimfire Technology. RT I ordered from the website and DIP I got from JBO for a little less and cheaper shipping overall than direct from DIP. Great service as well.

Hi Forum,

I'm the owner of a new Marlin 795 ss and I'm deciding on a scope. The Simmons Master Series 4 - 12x40 A/O looks good and I want to mount it using the UTG Airgun .22 Medium Profile Integral 1-Inch Ring Mount to prevent walking on the rail.

Have I done my homework correctly? Will this setup work for my rifle?

Thanks for your advice,

Tim

I got a cheap Simmons 4x32 for under $30 and works great. I have the UTG and and is the best $15 I spent. You are GTG TJR. Have fun.

Assuming you have the correct ring diameter for your scopes tube and the correct profile height to clear your objective you should be well served with the UTG 1 piece mount.

Congrats! Welcome to the family!

Make sure to strip it down and clean it before you shoot it. The factory oil is pretty gummy and sometimes there's a bit of milling scraps in there.

This will help you take it apart:

When removing the bolt be extra careful not to bend the recoil spring.

Got an email from Midway USA today. They have the 795 10 round mags in stock, on sale $18.99. Sale price till 5/31/12.

Not really the best price IMO but if you need them they have it in stock.

Yes, I believe it's possible, just watch out with the height of the tech sights interfering with the sight picture of the scope.

I'm pretty much a newbie to the 795 and I'm having some problems and hope someone can point me in the right direction.
First up like many I guess I had problems with my scope mounts walking so I bought the UTG RGPM2PA-25M4. I thought I got the right one and the reviews I read on this mount they talk about it working good on their 795 but my mount base is WAY wider than my rails .. what am I doing wrong here?

Next I had chronic feed issues with about 1 in 10 failure to feed. Bought another Marlin magazine and same problem. Took it to a gunsmith, paid $45 for him to tell me nothing is wrong (grrrrr). Finally did some research which I should have done in the first place and opened up the ears on my mags .035". Ran 50 rounds through after that with no failure to feed! Yay me! Anyway, need to get my scope mount sorted out .. help please!

Agreed the product id you posted is for dovetail which is correct. They must have sent you a picatiney rail on accident.

Never heard about opening up the magazines. But then again I've never had issues. What ammo btw?

Looking at the package it says "1 inch picatinny/weaver rings" If the model # is correct then I don't know what to order.

I had tried various ammo, Federal, Winchester, Remington all with problems. I was shooting Winchester after the mag adjustment and it seems to be feeding fine now .. at least after 50 rounds. What was happening before was the bullet missed the chamber and was contacting the top edge of the chamber rim which stopped the feed process. The theory I was told was that if you opened the mag ears slightly where the bullet exits it would decrease the upward angle of the bullet as it left the mag. That seems to have worked for me, at least so far.

Yea you don't want picatinny/weaver rings you want dovetail rings. The product ID on the package matches the id you ordered?

Interesting about the feed lips thanks for posting the tip in case someone here has that same issue. Glad you got it resolved!

OK, I think I have found the proper mount. But it seems that BOTH mounts, the piccatiny/weaver and the dove tail mount share the same model number which I find really odd. I ordered mine from Amazon after reading a review about it working great on a 795. I think maybe Amazon sometimes mixes reviews on similar same brand products. Oh well, I have another rifle I think the weaver mount will work on and if not then I'll go buy a rifle it fits hahah.

I just put one in jail too, get to pick it up on June 1st

Also an update if anyone is wondering, called Marlin today and they still dont have their magazines yet, should be getting it soon, keyword is "should", they are $18 each with shipping of $6 for one and $12 for two magazines. Probably should just get it from Midwayusa, think they are on sale right now for $18.95 or something.

Not sure if the Marlin 795 mags or the USGI slings are in stock, but CDNN has free shipping for orders over $50.

Good Evening Fellow Marlin 795 owners,

Just put a brand new 795 in jail for 10 days. I'm excited about it as it compares to the world's best .22LR Rimfire Rifles. That said, I'm not assigning any " human qualities " to it. It's just a tool to be used to gain benefit for me and my family. I hope I never have to use it to survive but if I do probably the supplementary factor that isn't talked about as much is it's size and weight. A plus, considering the company it keeps with my Centerfire rifles. haha.

You guys wanna assign human qualities. I have 4 Mosin Nagants and have assigned a Female Russian name to each. haha.

Keep this thread alive,

RBA

I love my 795. Its functioned flawlessly. My brother bought one and constant FTF problems. We compared mags and his had to be adjusted. Once done, problem was solved.
Just thought I'd chime in.

The immensity of this thread dictates that I contribute what many but not all of us know about the Marlin 795. i.e. This might be the only after market accessory that you will ever need.

Especially, the pure shooters. It's all I need. Your mileage may vary.

NUMRICH has a laminated hardwood stock for the 795. Supposedly a drop in fit. I might get one for $55 shipped.

Grab one now, it's only $46.90 shipped. Let me know if you'll sell the orignal stock.

That stock is a good deal was looking at getting one last year but waited it out for boyd's to make more stocks. And I am glad I did.. (even if the boyds do take fitting)

Vega you looking for factory black plastic 795 stocks?
I have 2 take offs available..

1 Brand New never even been fired.

1 Used but like new condition (no scratches or anything). Carefully sanded to free float the barrel. Negative is it has a UTG bipod adapter blue loctited to the front swivel (swivel can easily be removed and replaced. Nut on inside of channel is accessible and not loctited)

35 Bucks takes either (you pay shipping I have the boyds boxes I can send them in, if you want I will get the exact rate)

Or I see you are in Ventura (I'm in Riverside) maybe we could meet half way like in Pasadena..

Send me a PM if interested, Thanks!

Ordered my stock, as the synthetic feels too light and toy-like, and some goodies for my K31. Thanks to cornice6.

Hello, DasBoost. Please share some photos when your stock arrives. Also, how it actually shoots with the change.

Actually, it would great if everyone who is using an aftermarket stock for their Marlin 795 would share photos and range reports after making the change.

I'm all for improvements that improve a rifle in some tangible way.

Go Marlin !

Actually, it would great if everyone who is using an aftermarket stock for their Marlin 795 would share photos and range reports after making the change.

I'm all for improvements that improve a rifle in some tangible way.

Go Marlin !

Will do. It just shipped yesterday.

There is a 795 photo thread but it could use a lot more posts.

Here's my 795 in a Limited Edition Boyd's Tacticool stock:

Accuracy is about the same as before. I need to sand the barrel channel and make it free float and see what that does. Stock feels amazing and its a dream to shoot. Much nicer handling then the oem. The whole build is kinda heavy with the giant scope though...

I need to take a photo of my girlfriends 795 which is in a Sky Blue Rimfire Target Hunter stock soon...
