Default Gun Control Regularly Fails

"People, have you noticed how regularly this topic fails to come up?" Gail Collins rhetorically asked in today's NYT article on gun control.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/20/op...trol.html?_r=0

Hmmm. A topic that regularly fails to come up. That's an interesting way to put it. Of course, we understand what she means. She means that she wants gun control. She pretends to want a "conversation" about gun control. But not a conversation about, say, CCW or stand your ground law. And we certainly don't want a conversation about Fast and Furious.

What other topics regularly fail to come up?

Have you noticed how regularly the topic of tatoos fails to come up in presidential debates? I have! And I regularly fail to see any discussion whatsoever about string theory or the historical origin of noodles.

43 mass shootings this year? According to the FBI, CDC and others there have been 65 mass shootings in the last 30 YEARS!!! Nothing like getting a point across with out any discernible amount of truth to it.

The anti-gun groups are distorting language so that any shooting with more than two injured is a 'mass shooting.'

Well... Drunk Driving Kills 13,000 a year... This of course doesn't take into account all the other deaths related to alcohol while not operating a motor vehicle.

They'll say, "well there are usually 12,000 gun related homicides per year," but doesn't take into account whether or not the firearms were accuired legally. They also like to reference Japan which is now a passive cultural... but don't mention the UK, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, etc etc..

Up until the end of WWII the Japanese were hell bent on war and some of their bloodiest events took place without firearms.

It's a cultural problem... not a gun problem.

And of all the mass shootings how many could have been prevented or controlled so less casualties had happened had someone in there been carrying a weapon. Just recently 2 teenagers went to rob a small store late at night at gunpoint with pistols. A man going there to pick someone up saw what was happening when he pulled up, went to his trunk, grabbed his gun, entered the building and shot both teenagers in fear of his safety and the safety of others at gun point. What if that man had not been there? Who knows what may have had happened. And they got rid of Open Carry so now Law abiding citizens can't carry weapons because it "scares people"

Another op-ed writer that doesn't know the difference between an assault rifle and and assault weapon.
I think Obama is in the same group. He said he didn't want civilians having military weapons and wants an assault weapon ban.

Gun control is a placebo for people with no character.

They can FOAD.

...and don't believe there crap about a "conversation". That's just so they can get their foot in the door towards
a total ban.
