Default 18 SHOT 26.5MM MANVILLE FLARE LAUNCHER

Next is an 18 shot 26.5mm Manville Flare launcher. I am still finding out more info about this launcher. If you have any info you can post it or send it to me. These are really rare. I will post pictures soon. My asking price at this time is $3,000 $2,800 $2,500 OBO. $1,800.00 OBO

FTF only at this time. I live in Hesperia, But I am willing to drive on the buyers dime to deliver the launcher. I am making this clear now, I reserve the right to refuse purchase to anyone.

I am selling both of these as a collectible, the purchaser should have it checked to ensure it is safe to fire, purchaser should also look into all state and federal laws. All rounds that I am selling with this are flares, and flares only. Also the adapter for 12 gauge will only fire the flares, do not try to modify it to fire regualr shotgun shells, from what I understand you will be breaking the law by doing so.

Trades:
AR-10 Style rifle
AR-15 Style rifle, or pistol
AK Style rifle, or pistol
Saiga .223, 7.62x39, .308, new 30.06, 12, 20 gauge, .410
PSL
1919 Any setup
Long range set up
M1 Garand
M1A/M14
Cetme, Fal, Imbel
Benelli m4
45acp, .40, or 9mm carbine's
1911 in 45acp
Beretta 92FS or the Taurus copy
Semi-Auto open bolts
Side by Side shotgun
Lever Action
Just about anything HK

If there is something not on the list, go ahead and send me a PM with offer.

Bump for coolness - but I don't think that's a firearm, I believe it is a signaling device.

They use these in riot control, they have projectiles with OC/CN, rubber bullets, etc... Very Cool and a bump for an awesome tool. (wish I could get the fun projectiles)

IIRC, a similar device was used in movie Dogs of War (starring Christopher Walken, based on novel by Frederick Forsyth).

I have a Manville like yours. The Manville was originally designed to shoot tear gas for riot control in prison, there are various minor variations but basically that was the original and usual purpose. They came in a large, black fitted box when new. The Manville was in The Dogs of War as another person posted however with those thin cylinders, and made in the mid 1930's, I wouldn't want to shoot a modern shotgun shell in it.

The book "The World's Fighting Shotguns" has some history and photos.

Your price is the lowest I have seen on a Manville; it you have a dealer take it to a large gun show you will sell it for significantly more than your offered price.

Used in riot control???

LA Sheriff used a similar device with a Flite Right CS projectile during one of the East LA riots, circa 1960s. As I recall it went through a door and also through an LA Times reporter's head. That ended use in riot control, here locally at least...

My dad told me this story, the reporter was Ruben Salazar, who was hit by a Flite Right shell fired into the Silver Dollar bar on Whittier Blvd in East LA, by LA County Deputy Tom Wilson, August 29 1970. Salazar had been covering a war protest which had escalated into the East LA riot. He went inside the Silver Dollar, where several agitators (who he sympathized with) were hiding from deputies. Chicano radicals believe he was specifically targeted by undercover deputies inside the bar because of his reporting on civil rights and police brutality.
